One of the main issues is that every group has its own radical fringe who tend to come out with the more controversial takes.
Unfortunately certain groups try to frame these minority opinions as the norm.
The ‘war on Christmas’ is a perfect example. There is more than likely a very small handful of overly cautious PR/advertising execs around who are trying to be more inclusive with their wordings on promotional material (rightly or wrongly) at most and it’s being framed as some sort of mass organised woke left plot to cancel Christmas.
It’s a similar story with most of the things the anti-woke brigade piss their pants over.
