One of the main issues is that every group has its own radical fringe who tend to come out with the more controversial takes.
Unfortunately certain groups try to frame these minority opinions as the norm.

The ‘war on Christmas’ is a perfect example. There is more than likely a very small handful of overly cautious PR/advertising execs around who are trying to be more inclusive with their wordings on promotional material (rightly or wrongly) at most and it’s being framed as some sort of mass organised woke left plot to cancel Christmas.

It’s a similar story with most of the things the anti-woke brigade piss their pants over.

Also, @ForeverBlue92 you need to read an article on what Communism actually is because you are throwing that word around quite a bit completely out of context lol

I would say on the left the three most extreme elements are wokeys, communists & metropolitan elite (who I would rather not speak about).

The Left is largely a organised unit I would say compared to the right, so communists and the metropolitan elite aside, anyone who is woke will believe 95% of what liberals believe. The difference in the right is that the right is more fractured with more splinter groups from my casual observations - you have religious fundamentalists, capitalists/Tories, alt right, far right, anarchist skinheads etc. a wide range of people there who may not necessarily agree on even 50% of what the other group believes in.

So onto the point of what you were saying - If I was to say to you that I believe white privilege to be racist terminology developed by the elite to divide and conquer us plebs on the grounds of race in modern day Britain 2022 - a mild mannered Liberal would likely agree to disagree on that fine whereas a wokey would call me deluded, racist, a right wing nutter and demand me lose my job and have all my social media accounts closed by the authorities.

Thats the difference between a liberal and a wokey - I dont know what your reaction would be so I couldn't tell you if I believe you to be one or another.

You also have to factor in a proportion of those on the left who often will react in an aggressive manner at the types who burn and smash innocent peoples property in the name of "protest".

I would call you deluded but I am not a vindictive person so wouldn't do anything about your job or social media accounts. You are allowed to have that opinion and I am allowed to call you deluded and debate why you have that opinion. So am I woke on your hokey cokey wokey spectrum.

If you don't believe that white privilege ever existed then you should read some books. If you don't believe it exists now then that is a debate to be had, it is certainly not zero but the fact it isn't a higher percentage is down to liberals, and to the point, activists (I believe they would be called woke on your spectrum).

So you know how the world works and there are some terms that are brought into society to distract us, to divide us, we just have to get on with it. Here's the thing though mate.

Wokeism actually does exist.

Take one look at politics where one 'cause' after another is pushed into the MSM - usually for either a short term political boost or as a way of distraction from genuine topics the government want off the front pages dye to not us ing a clue how to fix them.

Or take a look at celebrities - real or SOC so media creations of the tik tok Instagram generation. And how they go from one 'hot topic' to another pledging their deep insight, enlightenment and pain on behalf of whatever it may be that week.

All the above btw undermines genuine issues, genuine solutions and actually creates resentment where before there was none.

Just look at the farce in the USA atm over the alphabet+ soup brigade and how if anything it's creating animosity and worse against the very group it's supposed to be fighting for. How many actual gay people identify themselves with say celebrity drag queens or professional transexual Instagram celebrities - well they're all included now in one huge group - one co opted by an extreme minority of that group.

That's just one very topical example - I say that on social media I can guarantee I'd be called all sorts btw

You could post a picture of a sunset on Twitter, with the comment “Lovely sunset”, and with enough visibility you’ll get a load of hate comments

“What about people who suffer from ‘sunset aversion syndrome’, you monster”.

That’s not indicative of a sunset hating, extreme woke sub-culture. It’s social media. Trolls, loons and bored people.

I wouldn't say its an issue of white/black more upper+middle class/working class hence why for me white privilege is racially inflammatory nonsense designed to divide the proletariat.

Statistically working class kids are more likely to either come from single parent homes/parents who don't value education highly themselves. You also then have cultural issues such as gangs etc.

Compare that to middle class kids and kids from Asian backgrounds who typically come from two parent households who value education - how many asian kids do you see hanging around in gangs thuggin and shooting/stabbing aspiring rappers from the estate ?

These are difficult conversations that need to be had but its much easier to just blame the evil white man and all the privilege that they hold on the world.
