Watching that again, it's just mad how easy it was for McGregor.

Cheers.
As a total novice viewer, I only watched that one fight.
Thought it was a joke. Don't think McGregor got hit hard once.

Seen better scraps whilst queuing up for a kebab.

I've been watching this sport since Ortiz vs Shamrock 2 glad it's come this far the other night was amazing even the prelims was stacked something you'll never see in boxing

It was a technical marvel from Connor. Kept him at bay while landing precise left hand knocking him down all over the show. Defending the take down. McGregor made it look easy. The only way it would have been a good 'scrap' is if Connor was a lesser fighter.

Considering how good Alvarez is it was a great spectacle to watch.

Khabib vs McGregor would be an interesting one

No way its a close fight like, McGregor either sparks him in 3 minutes or Khabib mauls him for 25 minutes

The amount of shots Khabib took from Johnson and the ease with which McGregor caught Alvarez make it a lot more interesting than it was prior to 205. Cos if he takes him down...

McGregor has fought something like 4 times in 12 months though and Khabib hasn't been much of an active fighter over the last few years.

I think Conor will take some time off and Ferguson and Khabib will face off for the no 1 contender slot. Both fighters need a lot more heat behind them to really appeal to the casuals.

Not really sure khabib has stayed fit long enough to be making threats to quit if he doesnt get thebtitle shot. On a side note snoop dogg commentating the end of his fight did make me chuckle

I agree and his 'Russia has 150m people' doesn't really mean much either. The Irish have followed McGregor everywhere, multiple times a year breaking gate records and making home town fighters seem like the away team. The Russians hardly follow in such numbers, if at all.

That's why I think they'll match him up with Ferguson, and the winner will get the chance to face Conor. Khabib may be unbeaten in his career and all that, but his UFC record isn't exactly a who's who of that division. Johnson was 1-2 and fighting off a quick turnaround at 205 even.

UFC: Conor McGregor will not fight before May 2017 due date of first child, Dana White spells out plans

CONOR McGregor has been one of the most active fighters on the UFC roster, but the lightweight and featherweight champion is finally taking a break.

McGregor hinted that he would be out of action for an extended period while awaiting the birth of his first child in May, but now UFC president Dana White has also confirmed the Irishman’s absence for the next several months.

According to White, McGregor is not only taking time off for himself, but also for his girlfriend Dee Devlin so she’s not burdened with the stress of another fight while she’s dealing with her first pregnancy. McGregor has also been one of the most active fighters on the roster with four bouts in the last 11 months — all of them scheduled for five rounds.

“He won’t fight before May,” White told the LA Times. “His girl gets super stressed out when he fights. He doesn’t want her having any of that stress while she’s pregnant.

“He’s good. He should take time off. He’s been fighting nonstop. Nothing wrong with him taking time off. It’s good for him and her and it’s good for the baby.”

With the length and intense demands of a fight camp tacked on to the end of the May due date, it is shaping as McGregor’s longest layoff since the start of his UFC career. He had 11 months out of the Octagon from August 2013 (vs Max Holloway) to July 2014 (vs Diego Brandao), before his stardom exploded and beyond that, has been remarkably active.

White didn’t address McGregor’s other demand before fighting again, which was receiving some sort of ownership stake in the UFC after his wildly successful run in 2015 and 2016.

McGregor said he wanted to sit down with the new owners from WME-IMG to discuss his future before booking anymore fights in the Octagon. When or where that might happen remains to be seen.

There’s little doubt McGregor’s absence through the first half of 2017 will probably hurt the UFC’s bottom line, but White doesn’t sound too stressed about it.

McGregor: I want ownership

While McGregor’s presence virtually prints money at the box office and on pay-per-view, White promises that the UFC will endure the two-division champion taking some much deserved time off.

“We’ve done this for 16 years, with a lot of big stars who couldn’t fight or moved on – Chuck Liddell, Anderson Silva, Georges St-Pierre,” White said. “There’s not a day in this office I don’t get the question, ‘What are we going to do about this guy?’ Every day I turn around, I’ve got a reporter saying we’ve peaked.

“If I listened to any of that — we probably would be done.”

Dont get me wrong i rate khabib highly blokes a beast, but i guess to me he isnt a big enough draw to be threatning the ufc. I actually wouldnt be supprised to see a catch weight fight with nick diaz on conors return. Allows them to drum up interest for another nate fight. Making good money but not risking anything. If conor lost he would have the fighting a respected guy out of his weight devisions. May aswell give up the 145 belt now by the time he has his time off will be best part of 2 yrs since he won that.

Fight Night 99 in Belfast and Fight Night 100 in Sao Paulo. Bellator's on too so there's a ridiculous amount of fights tonight.

Can't see anything but a Mousasi KO in the Belfast main event. Uriah Hall is finished.
