The transformation in Everton's attitude towards Fan Media

It's certainly a welcome step in the right direction. The fan sites such as GOT have been a massive blindspot at the club for an awfully long time, and it's well overdue that the club start working more effectively with them.

to be fair it was also because people like myself kept banging on about creating a youtube channel for us to see what happens inside and start streaming all this.

Thanks mate. You're a hero for all Evertonians worldwide. xxx

Not too long ago, the club were at war with fans media.

Interviewing players was off limits. Interviewing the manager was unthinkable.

Secrecy surrounded the club, nothing was open, no one was allowed to ask questions and questions weren't welcomed.

What a difference 12-18 months makes! We now have a Director of Communications in Alan Myers who is as skillful in dealing with the fans and media as Roberto Martinez is in his role as the manager. Myers, with his skills honed in 12 years working for Sky tv and bringing all that know-how and knowledge of how to present both himself and the club in such a fan friendly, professional, positive light. From that we have fans evenings that are entertaining, informative and enjoyable.

We are now at a point where the club allowed the MANAGER today to be interviewed by all the main Everton fans websites for nearly 90 minutes! Not just a snatched 10 minutes... not just half an hour.... but an hour and a half!

Wonderful, simply wonderful. We have got OUR club back.

It's too easy to suggest it's just because the manager changed - I think the appointment of Myers was massive. But there's no doubt that Martinez sees nothing as a threat, sees no need to be so defensive in attitude. By Martinez own words and actions, he wants to celebrate our past and talk it up, to make us and the players feel 10 feet tall.

This football club is on the up!

It's the sort of thing that re establishes your faith in football.

Whats been going on at Everton I mean.
