The Takeover Rumour Thread.

The point is that he chose to bury info about the failed annexe in some non-information story about the takeover which just went round in a circle telling us nothing.

I fail to see how that's a positive.

Quite frankly I couldn't give a crap about the Annexe. It wouldn't have benefited me or most fans in any way and it would have just further landlocked the ground. His comments about the takeover are far more interesting to me and I choose to take the fact he hasn't dismissed them as a positive.

One of the points Elstone said stuck out for me

We sincerely hope the right buyer, with the right motives, with a commitment to take Everton forward is part of this current dialogue.

I may be reading to much into it but this almosts sounds like a nod towards the prospective buyers - a little "we believe you are the ones" type nod.

I might be reading too much but i am a glass is half full kinda guy. and along with Fox's post, i choose to believe that the present talks are more than just 'enquiries'

Well that's good enough for me, pinning all my hopes on this theory.

Seriusoly though, it does seem like there is a little more substance to the comments than usual.

hope your right, could be that with the parkend sceme not going ahead it may give then more scope to do someting with the ground or any facilities they may want, heres hopeing we need something to go ok for us its all doom and gloom at the moment

Whether you give a crap about the annexe is besides the point.

What I said it was: his blog wasn't a a means to communicate anything meaningful about a takeover, it was just a shabby exercise in burying embarrassing news.

Not convinced by that, he could have just said nothing in that case, people weren't really shouting for news one way or another about the Annexe. The majority have got to the past caring point I reckon.

Embarrassing, or....

New club owners don't want to commit to any mid to long term building projects, especially ones which would get right in the way of the new main stand when they revamp Goodison and turn the pitch through 90 degrees, and this is the easiest way to just forget about it...

(my opinion... not one which I've gotten from anything STB has put in his blog... and I'm inclined to have to tell myself to stop being a fecking optimist on regular occasions).
