But if there are sale negotiations going on, having as bigger protest as possible may put the stronger bargaining power in the buyers hands and quicken BKs exit from the Goodison boardroom............

We all have one opinion and that is BK is NOT good for Everton!!!!

Hi guys,

A rovers fan here in peace. Just thought I'd let you know what the situation is as regards to the takeover and the Qataris interest in yourselves from the sources I've been speaking to.

Firstly, in regards to the Qataris coming to us and you being "second choice", that isn't really the case. The Qataris made initial enquiries about Everton but were put off by being told they'd need to stump up £300m for a new stadium. Thus, they came to Rovers looking for a cheaper deal. We don't need a new stadium and the money could all go towards the team. Despite 3 of the 4 Venky's head honchos wanting out, one doesn't and all four need to be in agreement for a deal to go through. Thus today Venky's say we are "not for sale". This will make their stay at our club untenable and they will rue the day they bought us, but that's something you guys don't really care about.

Point is the Qataris are now going to go back to Everton, and if they buy your club it will be a total transformation the likes of which you can only dream of at the moment. They're loaded and have big plans. The only obstacle will be financial fair play, how that will works in relation to their spending I don't know.

We were both second choices to Manchester United btw, but the valuation of £2bn is too much for the Qataris. Similarly prices for the other "big" clubs are way too high for contemplation.

Welcome mate. Hope you post after we've played you at Goodison. Always welcomed.

I understand all this stuff about the Board not lowering their price. But if a billionaire can't pay the price for the club (even if inflated) what hope does that hold out for the stadia or squad development? That's why the whole issue about "BK won't lower the price" is a green haddock.

You don't speak for me and I expect many others.

Thanks mate, depending on how bad my hangover is post-match I may well post to share my reaction!

The Qataris have definitely got the money, make no mistake about that. They're just looking for the "best deal", as any business does. They don't see much difference between Blackburn and Everton, so if one price is significantly lower than the other they'll go with that.

My gut feeling is that they will buy Everton, however they won't stand for much negotiation. They're fast moving and want a sale *now*. If a club messes them about or says "not for sale" then they move on. I find such practices, especially in the football world, utterly bizarre... but they've got enough money to negotiate that way.

I've been told they've also put the feelers out towards Wigan... but are reluctant to purchase them and it really would be a "last choice". As much as Dave Whelan has spoken out against foreign ownership, he's more concerned about who will buy Wigan once he goes. If the Qataris do decide to make an offer there's a good chance he'll accept it.

I think the best solution would be for the Qatari royals to provide the financial muscle with Kenwright staying on as chairman.

Not sure about that Jock,i do agree that in fairness he hasnt been the best we've had at least he IS an evertonian. on the flip side of the coin i would like to see a savvy businessman at the helm who is also an evertonian, cant think of any at the moment but i know there are some out there, i think you need a mutual blend of passion for the history and business knowhow to run our club, BK go tthe passion but he's a theatre buff not business man.

I hope you guys do get taken over and things start to take off, as a Newcastle fan I have been hoping we'd get more money in with a richer owner. I mean Mike Ashley is only a small bit behind the Manchester United owners in the riches (according to the richest owners in English Football list) we were allowed to get relegated, and have this other rubbish go on. Poor decisions, poor managers, poor players, we had them all.

Drama a plenty at Newcastle, and with the new naming rights sponsor thing at St. James' Park I was angry, but I have slowly come around more money around the club cannot be a bad thing. So I do hope that Everton can find someone that's going to give them the money to get good players, and be able to compete, because I am kinda tired of seeing good clubs getting screwed around.
