my dads hero like,
this was truely class! thank you

....Bravo Sir, best yet.
Had the privilige of hearing the great man speaking at a sportsmans dinner 10 or so years ago - and I have never and I'm pretty sure I never will witness an man more passionate about football/the blues if I live to 300...... Colossus from an from an age of footballing Gods......

Loved it lcab lad.
Alan Ball to call him a footballing legend is not suffice.

Just finished with the sermon. If Everton is the School of Science, then you are the Distinguished Professor of History and Poet Laureate of the Everton Heart. I feel like I should be paying for the right to read this. No dry detached book written from someone who wasn't there and didn't care can ever come close to the sermons we are treated to on a weekly basis here. Mark me an ass kisser if you like, but if you don't recognize this quality, get your eyes checked, have a Doc make sure you actually have a heart, and go put on a red shirt cause you are snide in your soul if this doesn't get you going. Cheers to LCAB, Gentleman and Everton Scholar.

I think lcab should have a thread to himself, where all the sermons can be read.. like we have ' ale house ' Everton forum' etc.

That'd be boss.

Moving. Truly moving. I can't think of any other way to describe it, u have outdone your good self once again LCAB.
It has lit the fire in my belly again and got me revved right up for the match tonight, don't let me down everton!

Loved the piece Mr LCAB. I love anything about the great man and it's people like you that ensure he will never be forgotten.

Pedant that I am, I'll pick you up on a point. Bally's last goal for us was indeed in the eight nil demolition of Southampton, but he only scored the once that day. The scoreboard read 7,9,7,9,8,9,9,7. Big Joe was 9 and David Johnson wore the no.7 shirt. And Bally ran them ragged, white boots a'kimbo.

Considering you were 8 at the time, it's hardly surprising that memory has played a few tricks.

Loved him.

Still do.

He was ours.
