Does the club ever release information about our transfer spending? like how much is going to agents or whether the deals are done in installations. But I think we are heading towards another sell to buy transfer window unfortunately... but almost every prediction I make is wrong so I hope this is the case also :)

Unless Martinez wants to go out and spend £50m then thats when he'll have to sell a player. This summer we should easily have £20m+ IMO after sales last summer and january and then the cut from the next installment of tv money.

Make CL which Martinez is desperate to do, then who knows what we could have to spend, as we all know the riches that brings!

I really hope we have $20m+ and if we do we have to be sure not to waste the cash and be very diligent with it.. I don't want us to do a Werder Bremen and spend good amounts of cash on some players for it to backfire and leave us in a tricky situation.

I keep forgetting about the TV money... I really hope that we have cash though it really is exciting people linked with a player and thinking we really could buy them.

I look at it this way, in the summer before sales, Martinez spent £8-10m on the likes of Kone, Joel, signing Alcaraz on a free (signing on fee, agents fees) and Deulofeu on loan. Where did that £8-10m come from? It was the cut the board put up from the new tv money coming in.

There is another installment coming in for next season and the one after that so the minimum cut from that again you would imagine will be £10m, unless the board puts more up, but lets stick to the minimum, £10m.

We all know the amounts weve brought in for the sales of Felli (£25m after Standards cut of the profits), Anichebe (£4m upfront) & Jelavic (£7.5m as there staying up definitely) so add that up, take away what we spent on McCarthy, Barry, Lukaku, McGeady & Traore and roughly i think weve got about £10m left of what we made from sales, which will give us £20m in total come the summer in theory.

Martinez did say recently that were in a great financial position and are summer spending will reflect that, and i believe him. He said that Kenwright as promised him that any money he brings in from sales will all go towards his kitty.

Make CL and god knows what his total transfer pot could be?. Either way, we will be spending this summer before sales IMO!

Maybe its just me being a bit of a downer but I just cant see us spending 20mil without getting a decent amount from sales...

We've done the calculations of how much money we should have before and usually it just never seems to add up whether it be for agents or loyalty fees or other nonsense like that.

I do agree with your maths and I agree that we should have some cash to spend and if we make the champions league I reckon the board will have no choice but to produce a genuine 'war chest' which I hope is the case.

I'm just concerned if we do have that much cash that will it be spent, it would be a great chance for us to really solidify our team and potentially buy replacements for aging players.

Gonna go out on a limb and say i reckon we will have a 35m+ net spend this summer, i know everything in our past shows this to be massively unlikely, dunno why just got a gut feeling that we for once haven't vanished money at a board level and will back him - for this one time, after that it will be back to sell to buy though

Probably gonna regret saying that come august when we've spent negative net like

I think we will sign a striker as a permanent signing, sign Barry on a free and then get some more loans in. That's about it.

I think we will spend about £15m on a striker though, possibly Bony, if Swansea are relegated. I don't think we can afford Lukaku and there are rumours Chelsea are going to offer him to Athletico Madrid, plus cash for Diego Costa.

Can't understand people who say we will only have x amount unless we sell players . Why and who would need to be sold when we are in a great position to push on . We have sold our marquee player last season when we sold fellani. If the board didn't have much money for transfers we would have got ridden of Baines but instead he's signed a new contract . The bottom line is we do have money to spend. Last season we had 10 mill without the sale of any players . That was spent on getting basically the core players who Martinez knows eg joel Kone and Alcaraz. With 10 mill to spend I think Martinez will go for a player of his choice who he wants which seems to be a new winger with all the recent paper links. We then have 36 mill from player sales so depended on how it's split say 50/50 we have 18 mill available now I think this should be invested in lukaku or another striker with the help of loans to pack the squad out

Bill's not going to spend 18 mill unless we get top 4

-£16,500,000 2014
-£1,816,000
-£12,500,000
-£1,700,000
-£2,800,000
£6,500,500 2009

Our net spend since we last spent money.

Anybody who thinks we will buy without sales is quite insane.
