Even though most of the rumours might be bullocks, its been a while since I've watched a transfer window with some sort of excitement...previously its been all about possible departures than possible arrivals

Same mate. Probabaly one of the only times I've been excited for a transfer window. Very important for us with a new manager and only a few players away from top 4. Exciting times ahead.

Fair point and I think that's why people are quite quick to get narky on here at the moment. It could go quite well for us and that hasn't happened for a looonnngg time.

I'll just wait. Something will happen.

I'm sure it will. Given that Martinez has only just started his job, I would be very surprised if he started trying to complete transfers before he has had a chance to have a good look at his new squad.
It's one thing judging a player in a game, it's quite another being on the training pitch and seeing what else he is capable of doing

Just to piss some of you off. McGeady looks set to join Everton in £4million deal By ALEX GORDON
Published on 24/06/2013 01:23

AIDEN McGeady looks to be heading for Everton in a £4million deal. The former Celtic star cost Spartak Moscow £9.5m when they snapped him up three years ago.
However, the Republic of Ireland winger is now entering the last 12 months of his contract and the Russians will take a hit on his transfer value before he walks away for free.
New Goodison boss Roberto Martinez is a long-term admirer of the 27-year-old and tried to buy him for Wigan in January.
However, the proposed £5m switch collapsed at the 11th hour. Now Martinez is ready to move again for the Glasgow-born player. He said: “Over the next few weeks we have to make sure we bring in the right characters as well as the right players.
“It’s not going to be a case of bringing anyone at any time. It’s important we identify the type of help we need in the dressing room and make sure they are the type of footballer who will fit in with the train of thought of this club.
“We need to remember that finishing sixth in the league last season is impressive. It was no accident.”
Martinez, who took over from Davie Moyes after Wigan were relegated, knows he will face stiff competition for McGeady. Paolo di Canio is also in the hunt at Sunderland. The Italian already has McGeady’s Republic of Ireland team-mates John O’Shea, James McClean and Keiren Westwood at the Stadium of Light

I'd be happy with McGeady. We're crying out for more pace and although he's not world class he's also not the complete dog some on here make him out to be. I'd rather have him as an option on the wing than Naismith.

Fair comment. Whilst I'd prefer Belhanda, McGeady is indeed a better option than anyone we currently have to play on the right bar Mirallas. At least it shows that RM is looking to reinforce the right part of the squad!

He's absolutely rubbish, he is actually the dog people make out and wile 4M is nothing for alot of teams it is for us! That's a signing wasted and 4M cash gone. He has pace that is all. Has no final product, and would be even worse in the PL. I'd be absolutely mortified if we signed him. Yes his years are advancing but I would 10x more prefer Donovan at a fraction of the price! Even Redmond or Sinclair cheaper options with more promise.

Hopefully it's just paper rubbish!
