That should be a good signing for them. I mentioned we should sign him in the January transfer thread as besides being a good player I felt we could get him relatively cheaply.

I get where you're coming from but Shaw's only a kid. I'd grant you he seems to be quicker, but I doubt he's stronger and I'd say Leighton's football brain is better developed.
Given the amount that United are spending and their new manager how do you feel about our chances of finishing above them this coming season ?
I'm assuming you mean that you believe he will be better than Baines rather than saying he's better than Baines in their current state.

Depends on our signings. A bit disheartening we seem to be doing [Poor language removed] all.was reading DeTelegraaf which is a dutch paper(in holland stag do) and they reckon van gaal wants his side to look like this next year -

Well that's a decent team no doubt and I'm sure the ManU fans on here will be happy with it but, putting aside the costs, the main difference between that 11 and ours is the forwards, especially Van Persie. I think they'll be a lot closer to us this time round and might even finish above us, but they're unlikely to set the world on fire. But, as you say, a lot depends on what signings we make. Heh, we're all Evertonians here ( with a few honourable "away fan" exceptions like neville , red and alan whittle ) so we tend to focus on the negative.
Do you get to Goodison much mate ? It's always good to meet a few of the lads from on here for a pint so let us know if you're around. It'd be good to chew the cud over the Blues over a beer or two.
