The Sammy Lee Opinion Thread

Right then boys... I am here to happily eat a bit of humble pie.

I was fuming absolute FEWWWWMIN, when I found out it was going to be Allardyce as the new manager, however that slowly subsided the I found out that Little Sammy Lee was coming with him, then my anger focused purely on the club for allowing the little ferret to wear our crest.

However.

I watched from one of the boxes on Saturday, and I was really keen to see what was going on on the bench, what the dynamic was, what Sam would be like, if Sammy lee would be even arsed.

In 45 minutes of football, the fella done more then I have seen an assistant coach do in a long long time, I genuinely cannot remember an assistant who constantly talks, gee's up, praises, gets into the players like Sammy Lee. I was genuinely shocked, I cant even lie. Every player that come one or off got a big hug and some words of encouragement. It was that infectious that bloody Ferguson must have found the glue dissolver and actually was up and down too.

Watching the bench was probably more interesting then the game at some points.

I sat there and wondered how we have gone this long without an assistant who does actually do a job instead of sit there.

Sammy Lee, I partially salute you - you have more then impressed me with your attitude and what you do on the touchline, maybe you are what the players where missing and what you bring to the team might be that bit of difference. I know Kenny appreciated it in particular.

I think that he is going to be an Evertonian cult hero.
The management just seems balanced somehow now. Little Sam running around like a lunatic motivating players and coaching, Shakespeare sitting in the stand watching the game away from the frenzy of the dugout , not quite sure what Duncan's role is just yet but Big Sam in charge of it all.

People say this every time mate.

We could go back and find posts about Koeman's brother, Jan the happy physio man, you name it.

Why do people go so overboard after one game at home to Huddersfield?

incredible isnt it, we will get the same shouts the other way if we lose the next couple

My thoughts exactly, lets just see what happens over the rest of the season.

I don't think it is something unique to our fanbase either, I just think it is so easy to 'nudge' large groups into a way of thinking so easily now via forum / social media content.

If we had won the Derby at Anfield already I would have understood the massive change in public opinion already. But if you did a 7 day sampling on opinions of Sammy Lee on here, it is scarcely believable that a win at home to Huddersfield was a big tipping point.
