I must be getting old or something, but whilst I'm not exactly jumping through hoops over Allardyce getting the job, whats done is done. 18 months tops for him I reckon.
And having Sammy Lee as part of the coaching staff is utterly bizarre I know. But, it is what it is. Not losing any sleep over it. All I care about this season is securing our place in the PL as soon as possible.

I am probably in the minority but an ex red working for Everton does not bother me in the slightest. He is a good experienced coach and as far as i am aware has always put his all into it no matter where he has worked. After the catastrophic past 4 months we have had, i really dont care who is managing and coaching now as long as it improves us and moves us up the table. 18 months is not long anyway and can be cut short till the end of the season if necessary and its possible that we might all end up pleasantly surprised. Hope so anyway.

To be honest, yes we used to sing that song, maybe back in the days when "banter" was more involved within the local rivalry, yeah he played for them, but really I could give you many, many ex-reds on the Blue"fumeometer"who would get my goat, far,far more than Sammy Lee,if he can help us professionally and get a tune out of our underperforming squad,I'll be happy.
