Freeloaders? Saw in the press today that the Queens property company handed the Treasury a record £344 million last year. The Sovereign Grant is £82m so it seems they do pay their way to the tune of £262 million. Just saying.

Very meh towards The Royals, but I lean towards having them over not

You have to have a head of state, and I'd kind of prefer the head of that state be someone who has to do it as opposed to someone who wants to do it

Say what you want about the Queen and Charles especially, but they do understand that certain things need to be sacrificed for duty, which is not something someone like Donald Trump would understand. They may do it in an overly glum way, but at least they believe in it and so it with some semblance of dignity

It's why Diana and the Queen never really got on, as Diana just didn't accept that having to dedicate yourself to the actual job of being a head of state was part of the whole package of being a Princess

Yes the money and wealth they have is ridiculous, but I would counter that having a Royal Family definitely is a bonus for us when it comes to things like tourism. They do bring money in and people from outside of the UK seem fascinated by them and their travails

I wouldn't really consider myself a "Royalist", but I wouldn't get rid of them either. It's a complex issue for me

Honestly the Diana conspiracy theorists baffle me. There's probably more chance of there being actual aliens at Area 51 than there is that the Royal Family had Diana bumped off
