I would argue they do harm in so far as they sit a the head of prive

I would argue that they do harm insofar as they sit at the head of a privileged group within British society, a group that I or the vast majority can never join. They are the epitome of "all men are not born equal".

So what harm do they do? If you dont want a Royal family, fine. Thats a perfectly understandable point of view.

I just dont mind them, and think on balance, they do an ok job for the UK and commonwealth.

Private Eye ran with this a while ago - two or three months ago - that they'd been spending all this money on refurbing homes (on yes taxypayer money) and then just changing their minds and moving to a new place. So why run this in several major newspapers today? Because the new Duchess wants to move her PR to a private firm and take Harry's with her - and this is the Royal household flexing the muscles.

All a lot of utter tosh. As if they are arsed how much taxypayer money gets spent.

I am in the demographic that should be 'pro' but I have never really had any time for them.

Even as someone who doesnt mind them, it is difficult to disagree with that. If that £2.5 m figure to update that "cottage" is even half right, the first person I would call would be the sap who agreed the price.

Agreed with the first part as no individual is above the crown, so they'll undermine anyone within the family who attempts to make out as if they are. Later Megan!

However, not wanting to sound too pedantic but the money has not come from us tax-payers but part of the sovereign grant, which we do not contribute to.

It comes from a percentage of the profits from the Crown Estate, belonging to the Crown (not the individual), so I'm not too fussed how they spend some of it.
