the rep bars...

It depends on who gave it you. If someone with 5 bars gives you a rep it counts for more than someone who has 1 bar. D/D can tell the exact number of voting power each member has but that's the basic principle, although longevity and post numbers also count.

Good to know. I didn't know that.

On a separate note, TX Bill will be having a rep "auction" at a date to be determined.

We'll start the bidding at $5 per rep that I give out.

The reputation left will never be made public, it would make a mockery of the whole system in my opinion.

It is meant to show the collective forum opinion of a member, making it public would then discourage members from leaving negative feedback and in the occasions they do, no doubt revenge feedback would be left.

It works quite well in Big Soccer.

And sure, revenge feedback could be left but that usually doesn't happen.

Maybe so.

How many posts must someone have before they can rep someone?

If you want to avoid "revenge feedback," you might want to make it a high number.

Say 200 or more posts. That way you know you've probably got a regular poster leaving feedback vs. some kind of "hit and run" poster who wants to just screw up someone's rep and then leave.

Alright.

Someone has decided to have fun with my rep with consistent neg reps without any reason.

Some of the comments left include:

"Halewood Blue is God."
"LA Galxay for life."
"Houston Dynamo suck."

I guess it's all in fun then....

The good news is that I've got enough legitimate positive rep from various posts that it offsets it.

how long is it until you can give rep again after you have given it to someone?

its not that i give alot out! was just wondering thats all!
