The race for 3RD?

City have four home games and two away games left. All home games against bottom clubs and us and palace away. The only game i can see them losing is us. You don't become a bad team after one defeat.

Not saying they are a bad team but they served up a warning about that performance today in their last home game v Saints.

They won 4-1 or sommat but it was a very lop sided result. They were bad that day.

I wouldn't say they are nailed on to win all their games and I certainly can't see them winning at Goodison.

we have no chance of 3rd, 4th would be a massive achievement, either way just made up we virtually have a europa league place tied up some of my best away days were watching the blues in europe, the days when we had Yakubu and AJ up top and had victor smashing goals in all over germany and italy etc!

love the positivity around here, but we should be nowhere near city when you see the respective resources and squads. would be a bit embarassing for them seeing as one of our best players can't get in their team.
.

if Man City had Gareth Barry today they'd have won today, and more importantly for us, Liverpool wouldn't be winning the league.....
Garcia & ferdandinho were clueless.....

its all very ironic.....the media love Liverpool, and seem to have little time for us....everytime they speak of us, its about linking our players with other clubs, but also how we're only in the top 4 because of our loan players.......
well....Chelsea won't win the league this season because they have struggled for goals from their strikers.....well had Lukaku not been loaned to us, sure we wouldn't be top4, but Chelsea would have won the league NOT Liverpool.....

had Barry not been loaned to us, he might have played today instead of Garcia.....and city probably would have won (despite clattenbergs best efforts)....

so as great as the loans have been to us, they've benefited Liverpool even more.....

sunderland's recent record against city is decent, if we win on wednesday and they lose we're 1 point behind them albeit with a game in hand.

Liverpools glorious rise is . . . . I'm sorry but it's overshadowing our succes in media terms, even though you can argue ours is a more impressive achievement considering selling our best player every 2 seasons, our football genius taking away from usand our resources. It doesn't help when Gerrard is busting a tear for the Sky cameras also. But I have always noticed that when we do great they end up doing one better.

What happened last time we finished 4th?

Thinking that myself.

Or they do sommat worse.

Like how our glorious season of '84/85 was overshadowed by an event which totally stunted the growth of EFC.

ours is clearly a better achievement. don't get me wrong going from 8th to 1st has been a great leap, but they have had so so many factors go their way, regardless of the fact that with their resources they should be challenging for the title every season anyway.

I know we won the league then WW2 happened and footy stoped for 7 years. Its believed Liverpool FC invaded Poland.

It is. You look at the net output that we've spent and we should be somewhere around 9-12th at best every season. Even Spurs and Villa (back in their drunken sailor days) had to spend somewhere around 3-5X to get where we are at almost every single year. I honestly think that the only reason we aren't challenging for the title is becuase we didn't have a striker for the 1st 3 matches (all have which would have been W's) and that Lukaku got injured for a few weeks.

A pair of absolutely boss brown shoes just walked up and told me that we need to just focus on each game one at a time. I'm quoting here...

"Our skills, hard work, and creativity, with the support of Evertonians worldwide, will show us how to get the maximum number of points from each match, and we'll see what happens as we go match by match. Too much time and effort focusing on fantasizing about one particular place or another in the table can lead to a lack of focus on the real important work at hand. The only table that truly counts is the one we see at season's end."
