The Power Shift On Merseyside

Just picking up on the "they are far bigger off the pitch" thing.....I kind of agree but I also think you have to remember they basically went into administration and could have ended up like Rangers not so long ago.

While FSG might have pumped in loads of cash to wipe out their debt, Liverpool are still running at a huge loss - much bigger than ours - of £50m according to their last set of accounts. They also had a net cashflow of -£43m, something which cannot be sustained. They are paying CL wages but don't have CL revenue - it is not sustainable.

Last September they took out a £120m facility with three banks which suggests that they will soon be racking up the debt again (over and above their current £38m) to fund their losses.

I don't think off the pitch is quite as clear cut as people make out.

This has cheered me up, cos i thought they were over the worse and had no debts mounting up.

Leeds and Baggies games aside I'd say yes, from what I've seen of others, we probably are.

We're ****ing boss at the moment. A joy to watch at times.

Enjoy it while it lasts.

Oh, I will do. I don't watch enough non-Everton football to speak authoritatively, but I'd be surprised if we're playing the best in the league, as well as we're doing relatively.

It's not just us saying it, either, mate. Sections of the media have been saying it and plenty of the comments on news articles from non-Evertonians have been saying it as well. It's pretty nice after years of not-always-justified "dogged, hardworking, negative" rubbish.

The general opinion seems to be that none of the big clubs have really got going, yet. Certainly in terms of stastistics (shots, etc) we're the most attacking side in the league.

I've seen and heard favourable comments but I've not heard anything anywhere near close to saying we're playing the best football in the league though. Apart from on here.

It's subjective opinion anyway, so it doesn't matter a toss.

The stats are fact though & the facts say that we're the most attacking side in the league this season.

They also say that in the calendar year, only United & City have taken more points than us.

The 2 facts go hand in hand me thinks.

Do we have as good a pass completion rate as Liverpool though?

We still can't compete with Liverpool financially and I don't think we ever will.

Am enjoying this time at the moment as a blue. I take each match as it comes and hope for the best as I know and we all know we can have our expectations raised and then shot down in equal measure.
