The Power Shift On Merseyside

Silly thread. They're clearly a much, much bigger club than us in terms of finance, worldwide fan base and overall league positioning over a relevant period of time.

There's a touch of the deluded about GOT at the moment, with stupid (and serious) threads about winning the league, being bigger than the Reds after six games, Howard is better than Reina etc.

What's more deluded - the team in 2nd place playing the best football in the league dreaming of winning the league or the team in the bottom half with a seriously **** first team thinking they have a 50/50 chance of getting a CL place this season?

they are both very deluded.

as its been said, lets not make a thread like this before the derby, bragging about how they've been marginally more underwhelming over the last season and 3/4 than we have, its just stupid.

Derby's won last season:

Liverpool 3

Everton 0
And we still finished above them. A top 4 finish for us this year, having been beaten in both derbies, won't be any less sweet. Derby results matter to me on the day, not over the season. Bigger picture stuff this season lads

There'll have only been a power shift when we start consistently finishing above them and start winning things.

Any kopite reading this thread would be howling for the most part.

Power shift FFS.

I agree Tubasaur. I agree.

Tbh mate when it comes to finishing 7th and 8th with Europe out of the question I'd have rather finished 8th, won both league derbies and beaten them in the semi and hopefully have gone on to win it.

i shall reply to this thread as respectfully as i can even though it deserves to die. a few questions should be asked of the op- what has your crack been cut with? any ideas? embarressed here. sort your dealer out ffs

....and won the league cup. Even though it was funny, even though he wasted £100M and they were playing sh!te, Dalglish still did not deserve his fate to be replaced by an imposter.......

I think both of them are absolutely mental. In different ways, but still mental. Dalglish is just pure evil, not a pleasant man at all. Rodgers is just deluded, don't think he's a bad guy, just arrogant and highly cringeworthy. The cult will lap his words up though, for now.

*adopts drone like voice and vacant stare.

"Liverpool football club is an institution. We come not to play."

Are we really playing the best football in the league?

Liverpool still have more money than we will probably ever have. We should be worried what happens when a manager comes along who knows how to spend it over there. Thats when they do well again. Not sure its Rodgers but it could be...

What people are saying that the rs can just go and spend more money where we cant so the power shift right back to them, they get around 20 million a year just for sponsers where we get a few million for a few years.
Its just that we have a good manager.
