Because they should never have been able to compete until now. The Olympics have allowed it to happen for almost 40 years.

How? Now that's a good question. The IOC is a beacon of moral integrity and its suprising that they let this slip through the crack all these years.

Lithuania v Russia in the basketball. Lithuania played so well against the US. Have a thing against Lithuania for beating Australia in previous bronze medal matches, but they're a good side. And definite underdogs as far as the Olympics go!
