Apparently, Meare's win was "tainted" according to Pendleton's dad.

Classy.

"It's a shame. It's a bit tainted and does leave something of a nasty taste. There's a certain tinge of bitterness.
"She did do exceptionally well and if the outcome was decided in three rides there would have been nothing to dispute."

Tbf that's hardly an un-understandable (um, yeah, that's a word!!:) reaction from her dad, and not miles out of line, only fair to expect him to be disappointed about how it went down. It's been well debated on here whether the relegation was warranted or not, and it's not as if judging in other areas of the games hasn't been without controversy, and bare in mind that's twice it has happened to her.

Oh and some great Sun style taking a quote out of context to change it's perception there Dave.

Edit: On a happier note, another guaranteed medal now in the sailing, possible gold in Women's 470 class.

An Australian "athlete" complaining during the Equestrian Jumping event that she was made to wait to long before her turn because she was "called too early" and her horse had to wait "15 seconds longer" than it should have and was "too cold" to jump.

Officially confirmed as my least favourite discipline at the Olympics.

Something I've been thinking since the games started, why the hell are we letting North Korea compete? They should be banned from every sporting competition, its practically Nazi Germany with the re-education (brainwashing), spying on each other, and concentration camps. Except they have a bit of starvation thrown into the mix too. Disgrace I think.

Nazi germany weren't banned either. The olympics have never excluded people for political reasons, no matter how murderous and insane their leaders are.
