Love it. There’s a best selling book “ Where the Crawdads sing” , been out a few years, a friend recommended it and I said the only reason I know about Crawdads is that they used to smoke them in the Beverley Hillbillies. “?? What’s that. ?” was her response ?

On the Crawdads theme , I remember an episode where Jethro had some hippy pals around , smoking joints etc and one of them says “ wow, these guys are far out man, they say they smoke Crawdads “ ?

Loved this as a kid. Always on when me and my dad got back from the baths.
Mentioned them to my missus, who is 5 years younger than me ... never heard of them. Worse- we watched some and she didn't even like it. Youth eh? No taste.

It's the recovery times that kill me now.

Knocks, sprains, bruises, now take yonks to heal and clear up.

Lol, it sure does, I went to a Wedding party last year and the twist came on, I thought I'll show these kids how it's done, I got down ok but getting back up took 3 times as long!

Well, if you're bald they've got to grow somewhere. Lucky they're not sprouting from your elephant and castle.
Personally I've acquired a very hairy back which normally I forget about but which still shocks me when glimpsed in a mirror. It's like it belongs to someone else.

Yep, anywhere except on your bleeding head…life is cruel….

Ad a youngster I had shoulder length curly hair. I was, and remain, a heavy metal fan. During the Covid shutdown I was pleasantly surprised to find that my hair grew quite long and the curls even came back.

My normal cut for the past 38 years has been a 3 on top and 2 back and sides.

So, touch wood, no sign of baldness yet.

Outside of school, BBC 2 opened up a whole new world to myself.

Foreign movies, live Jazz, brilliant dramas., and thought provoking documentaries.

As you say, it's now dumbing down to an alarming degree.
