BML.. I once worked for City FM, a radio station in Liverpool ( Castle St. ) and if you went out and interviewed someone, you did it on tapes, then had to got back to the studios, open up the tapes and cut the tape up to edit it.. literally with a knife..
I bet that dosent happen anymore !

Nope! We edit our stuff on computers and our recording devices just save them as audio files, much easier!

Repairing cassette tapes with a bit of sellotape was fun. Cut off the chewed-up bit and stick the two ends together.

My first cassette player was similar to this. Came in a case and strap. Microphone.too
