i haven’t given this much thought because I retired at 59 on a private pension, but I’ll start getting mine in 2 years 5 months.

if you go on the gov website, it will explain it all and I think if you enter various details they will also give an indication of what pension you will get...

I have officially retired as of Friday, been working near enough 50 years none stop.
