I was in Cafe Nero in Huntingdon yesterday and asked for a strong black coffee. As expected, Americano was offered. When I said I'd like a small with an extra shot, the 'barista' (sigh) said that would be a large. How much larger is it? I asked. Twice as big, she said. So that means it's just as weak as a small one with one shot, I said. Would you like a small one with an extra shot then? she says...

That's a good idea, says I, with as much sarcasm as I could muster.

....this is where I was raised in Everton. Not a car in the street because nobody had a car. I distinctly remember putting a ball through the bottom window of the house on the left. I also have a vague memory of the bloke coming around and putting out the street lights;

Absolutely SHOCKING, but I still remember this as Saturday night TV on BBC1.

I turned 65 on 22nd August and I'm eligible for a small pension from a former employment. I get the first monthly payment on 1st October which is fair enough, but I'm also due a lump sum which they said would be in the bank 5-7 days after my birthday.
I'm still waiting.
(In fact I've already spent most of it) lol
