The Oldies Thread

Getting old now joey66 , can't recall half the places I spent my drunken youth in.
Anyone remember Gullivers club bottom of London road - a lad at work recommended it so my mates and I went in there worst for ware ale wise - that's when i did the most embarrassing thing ever -thinking it was a massive club after all the praise it had etc from my workmate - I was presently surprised on how big it was so I ventured over the dance floor looking for the Gents toilet - being slightly drunk I did not realise in fact the club was small, and I was walking into a massive glass wall mirror - this bloke {me} in front of me was in my way I was shouting, and telling him to move after a few minutes I realised it was me - I was arguing with moving side to side to get past - looked over my shoulder for all my mates and some of the club members pointing laughing at me. lol
I soon sobered up and could not take the stick all night - my workmate got some stick when I got to work fantastic club not - never returned to that postage stamp of a clublollol

Memories of the Pez (Pes?) Espada, anyone? Think it was on Dale Street.
My first ever visit to a Liverpool nightspot, courtesy of some complimentary tickets distributed to our offices.
Hazy memories of the meet and greet lady, gave her name as Imelda or something similar. Got talked into taking up membership cost about £3.
Not a bad place and enjoyed going.

..yep, Gullivers was one of my haunts. It was in a side street near the bottom of London Road. I think there was a little boozer opposite the Odeon called The Clock which we’d go to beforehand.

Even though I grew up in Dublin in the 60s I can relate to a lot of that video.
Very few cars on the road.
Neighbor hood copper walking around every day
Bottle of milk in school and a sandwich.
Bun on a weds , bread and jam on a Friday , corned beef ( which I never ate ) on tues and thurs , can’t remember Monday.
Lads would come around at lunchtime handing out what was leftover.
Our teacher knew a couple of poor lads in our class and always made sure they got seconds

After what is looking like a concerted campaign by the NHS to get the nation innoculated against the flu virus, against my better judgement, I had mine yesterday.
I have resisted getting it in the past on the basis those that I know have had one, usually end up having a reaction and getting it anyway.
Woke up this morning and feel awful. Why do us old gets fall for this propaganda .

My wife and I have had them for a few years, and for the first couple we did get a reaction, first one we felt crap, second the arm hurt a bit etc. We had the one for this year about three or so weeks ago, absolutely no reaction from either of us.......hope this helps........

Cheers.
It's exactly as I feared. Felt dreadful ever since. I just hope this ceases soon.
Hasn't stopped me going to work, taking over the counter meds.
What's peeing me of most is my missus carping at me when I cough.
Good thing is that I have been condemned to the single bed though so I don't have to suffer her tropical moments.

We know a lad that got narcolepsy from the flu jab when he was 12/13
It’s a condition that will stay with him for life

Did this one night in Scamps,(Used to be above the old beerkellar) it was absolutely full of mirrors, still laugh and cringe about it in equal measures.
