...brilliant, thanks for that. Not far from where I was born and raised around Everton Rd. I reckon that was my era as well, probably 60s, think there was a shot of Margaret St baths where I spent much of my youth.

Never.Get a flu jab this winter
My missus, and mam and dad when they had it, ended up immeasurably worse for weeks after.
And in one case my mam still got a bout.
Pot luck I suppose, but I'll take my chances.
It works - I am lucky no side effects some others I know do get them sometimes though - I think it's psychosis of the mind but some people do get it bad, others just imagine it!
dipped the odd toe in there back in the day...and as was said - It all came tumbling down.

....enjoyed those, thanks. Grant Gardens looking a lot more resplendent back in the day. I lived right opposite in Cobden Street. Moved to Knotty Ash in my teens and lived my married life in West Derby but loved my childhood in Everton.

Naturally I'm tempting fate here, but I honestly don't think I have had flu.
Heavy colds and general uneasiness but nothing on the likes of aching joints and being confined to bed.
I tend to take vitamin supplements on a regular basis, and put my resistance down to that, and not working in an office type environment.
..I'm the same, never had the flu or suffered from colds. I worked in an office environment and was fortunate to have only 6 days off sick in nearly 41 years. Not sure why but count myself lucky.
At various times and for various reasons between 1958-70 I spent a lot of time wandering the streets of the City centre, L4, 5, 6. West Derby Rd, London Rd, Islington, Breck Rd.
Looking back now I was there just before they pulled it all down or widened the 2 lane rds to 4 or 6.
One summer 1964? they didn't take our bus passes off us on the last day of term, added to that they'd changed the format, Instead of having just your bus number(s) on it. For ease of issue (and cost in labour no doubt) they made it a 'blanket pass' you could get any bus. Their loss was our gain. We made it our goal to go on every bus from 1 to as far as we could, so I got to see even more of the City.

That's some attendance record. I prided myself on a low absentee rate through sickness but nowhere near yours.
That opens up another debate don't you think? Oldies versus the young ones (are these now called millennialls ? ) on attitudes for being absent from work for the most menial ailments. Definitely judging by looking at were I work now, the 60 plus age group are a lot more resilient than the young bucks.
