You may be right, but perhaps he's meaning Eton in particular. I wouldn't tend to agree with him as it's churned out a couple of friends who I consider an asset to the Nation, if not humanity, although they aren't from the mercantile stock.Very true we could vote for privately educated, raised in a manor, gap year taking Jeremy Corbyn instead.
Johnson is an idiot of the highest order, but this inverted snobbery is completely stupid.

I think the issue with Johnson is though, that he embodies the worst aspects of such socialisation. Not everybody who goes to such institutions does and I don't think Corbyn does. It's not to say Corbyn is without faults but I'm not sure they stem from his background.
Johnson has this belief that he is born to rule, seemingly at any cost and without any real idea of what to do. There's no great vision, no great principles, not great outlook or mission beyond power for himself.
The reality is Blair was from a public school background too (far more so than Corbyn, I believe he went to Fettes) but even Blair had a historic mission. I don't believe Blair wanted power for himself, or went into it because he had the narcissistic belief he was born to rule. He considered himself on the left (so different to the socialisation around him) but believed being electorally viable was the essential way to make change and the party had to change in order to do this. He took an awful lot of flak for that. However his "I wasn't born into the Labour Party, I chose it" was a significant moment and I think he really cares about the party, even now.
Johnson though, is a pretty repulsive man. Love kids all over the shop. Treat successive wives with disdain. Doesn't see a lot of his love children. Has 2 speeches written on the key issue of Brexit etc. Say what you want about Blair, or Corbyn can you ever imagine them having 2 speeches written on an issue, like the Iraq war or whatever? And then choosing what position to take by almost singularly weighing up which option suits them best?
I loved Blair. If only we had a politician like him now.
Tories is the collective term mate.We still have lots of other warmongering, self-centred, grasping liars in the HoC......

Did he mention it?
