Why do you defend them. In your heart you know it’s undemocratic, you wouldn’t accept it in the ROI, so why accept it in the EU. Problem with the Johnson kind of toff is that he loves power and doesn't like being pulled up on anything , he is believes he is simply a higher class of person and therefore don't have to answer to anyone!
