No, it still begs the question regarding respect for Democracy, which no remainer has done. I have no doubt that if Boris wants to get back into Politics he will receive a massive vote to do so. He’s been the subject of an in party stitch up and a committee hatchet job and he is probably doing the right thing by being well away from the forthcoming electoral demolition of the conservatives…..

Extremely unfair this Pete. A fraction over 50% of the country wanted brexit.

As a remainer, I always accepted the outcome, but the devil was in the detail - what type of brexit would we have? A full-on severing of the ties, or a lighter softer brexit. There was never a mandate for either of these as those choices weren’t offered.

The fact that no-one in parliament was able to reach a compromise was the biggest disgrace to our country, as politics is inevitably about compromise. But let’s not re-write history.

Every Remainer has accepted that Brexit is a thing that happened Pete. I think they're keen for the morons who made it happen to now make it work, and there has been scant evidence of that happening.

I genuinely don't mean to be insulting here, but you're old and probably haven't felt the impact of it that people have elsewhere, and when you have felt it, you just blame something else. But even people who voted for Brexit are tapping their fingers as they wait for the first benefit of Brexit to happen, judging from polls on the matter

I'm sure we had a fair few deals with our ex European partners, you know the enemy to you and what have they been replaced by ? Prices are rising unbelievably in shops and Brexit has a lot to do with it as well as much as you deny it. Isn't true as well most of our ex partners are paying less for their fuel and energy bills ? Labour would have had more windfall taxes on these companies making incredible profits, remember Starmer led Johnson by the nose to introduce a windfall tax in the first place. Not Just me I know but my energy bill is and has been for months £371 a month and we are in the Summer ! Mortgages are going through the roof..this is Tory Britain, taxes are higher than they have ever been and our National debt has quadrupled you must be very proud. After 13 years don't you think we deserve something better.
It's crazy to accuse Brexit of having a lot to do with it. Within 3 months of us leaving the EU, with a trade deal, the country went into lockdown for 1 and half years, so we had almost 0 economic activity, huge money printing, huge debt. That's were all the problems are sourced from, but you believe what you want including that we're entitled to something better. Unfortunately, we aren't. They're all the same.

It was all about tax, and to those with enough money, avoiding it.

You are a mere minion, you don’t matter.

So we didn’t leave the single market until 31st December 2020. 9 months after the first lockdown. So you are wrong there. Don’t know what trade deal you are talking about because we definitely didn’t leave with one. We also weren’t in lockdown for 1 and a half years.

You are either the worst WUM ever or an utter moron.

I think that’s a fair point Prev, and while I don’t know of anyone who has been negatively affected by Brexit, and I really do know an awful lot of people, I’m sure that there must be some for whom it’s introduced problems. It would be good to hear on here those that have been affected and in what way……

With the thrashing of the pound the way it was, and my pals not inviting me along to bet against the pound like they all did, it's now a matter of I can't buy quite as much champagne as I used to. I'll have to bath in water again someday a lot closer than I ever thought...

We only left a couple of years ago, just before Covid hit. We had spent a lifetime in the EU and even before it metamorphosed into the overburdening superstate it’s become, it took years to adjust to the new reality. Those of a certain age know this. Leaving the EU was far more complicated than joining the EEC because of all the laws adopted as a result and the disgraceful rearguard action of Remainers and the CS. Compromise is a wonderful thing but it takes two to compromise, and as the EU was hell bent on punishing the U.K. there was very little evidence of compromise on their behalf. With goodwill on both parties it should have been easy but unfortunately politics got in the way….
