Brexit wasn't founded and won on lies. It was founded and won on hope and in defiance of a rival campaign that was founded on fear, big money and globalisation that belittled people that had been entirely crushed by that consensus e.g. Greece, Italy, shall I go on? Anyway none of that is relevant.

Boris doesn't excel at lies at all. If he did he wouldn't have been found out for them. He actually lies because he is lazy to do the work. I have a pretty low opinion of Boris, but don't actually agree with what you wrote. Boris is pretty good at the people stuff and he was very successful because he made people happy, proud and hopeful. There's no way he could have got votes from all the different types of people, in roles he's had any other way.

The reason the parliament dislikes him is actually because they fear him.

So Brexit wasn't founded on lies Can you show me the £350m then for the NHS, remember the buckets of cash being thrown down the drain.
Also Brexit was built on xenophobia, everything foreign was not to be trusted, excess waste etc.
Tell do you go shopping with you're wife ? Try it sometime and see the prices and the empty shelves. Oh and Boris is the king of liars as has been proved by the Tories themselves, so behave on that. So Boris is good for the people, where was he during the early Cobra meetings ? When Covid run rife through the Country and what did the people's champion say. " Let the bodies pile high" remember that one. And let's not forget when ordinary people were dying in their thousands, where was Boris ? Partying hard. Cmon mate you're not fooling anyone.

What you mean @peteblue ,is that Boris, in the interests of democracy, should have been allowed to appoint his own panel, or at least approve it’s composition. Perhaps Dorries as Chairperson?

Not at all. The committee was set up originally under Boris as PM. However it is incumbent upon members to recuse themselves if there is a conflict of interest. It is also a matter of integrity to recuse oneself from any investigation if you have already made up your mind before even starting the process. Imagine a judge publicly telling the world a man is guilty before the trial even starts. A jurist would be dismissed for doing similar. Fairness has always been our watchword, and this seems to stink tbh……

This reads as if you've eaten a Blackstones and then vomited the pages up in a random order.

The Privileges Committee is comprised of MPs, not members of the public or judicial figures. It has never intended to be a court, so to insist that it follows the same process as a Court is wilfully misleading.

As is saying that - for example - Bernard Jenkins might have attended a function that broke the COVID rules at the time; Johnson wasn't before the Committee for attending those parties, he was there because he misled the House. Is there any suggestion that Jenkins did that? No, they've just gone on about nudism for some reason. Suggesting that attending such a function means he would have to step aside because of a conflict of interest is as absurd as it would have been to call for him to step aside from the Margaret Ferrier case because he'd been on a train once.

Johnson is a serial liar, indeed he has just demonstrated that again today with this ACOBA nonsense.

Have you ever met him?

The £350M for the NHS? Let's see the NHS budget in 2016 was £121Bn. In 2023 it is £152.6Bn.

So £350M a week, x4 for a month and 12x for a year = £16.8Bn. Since 2016 the NHS budget has swelled by £31.6Bn. Are you happy now? I'd say that's more than delivered. I've attached some graphic from the King's Fund to show NHS England budget - whether it works or not I don't know? Also here: https://www.kingsfund.org.uk/projects/nhs-in-a-nutshell/nhs-budget

The prices in the shops are affected by many things. They're the result of the astronomical energy costs, the shortages of key agricultural products that we relied on import from Russia and Ukraine for (and most critically the fertiliser to grow crops here which Russia was one of the biggest exporters in the World of). There's the increased fuel costs for transport, inflation, depression in UK currency due to the enormous quantitative easing money printing during Covid and the remnants of global supply chain shortages from Covid (whole companies of employees were laid off in the developing world in loads of industries during Covid, you can't just replace those people - you have to train them all back up and shortages cause price increases). You can thank the luvvie lockdown brigade for the terrible economic position of so many countries and then the fools that compounded it by demanding sanctions on Russia. It's not consequence free by any means.

You can of course blame Boris Johnson for all of that legitimately, but ask yourself what Labour would have done. They wanted even longer and harsher lockdowns. They also support this Ukraine madness. Boris Johnson's government would actually have lost votes on some issues if it wasn't for Labour supporting him through it because there were significant rebellions by his own MPs. I'm glad Boris Johnson has been held accountable now I want all the other blood suckers to pay from all parties.

I'm sure we had a fair few deals with our ex European partners, you know the enemy to you and what have they been replaced by ? Prices are rising unbelievably in shops and Brexit has a lot to do with it as well as much as you deny it. Isn't true as well most of our ex partners are paying less for their fuel and energy bills ? Labour would have had more windfall taxes on these companies making incredible profits, remember Starmer led Johnson by the nose to introduce a windfall tax in the first place. Not Just me I know but my energy bill is and has been for months £371 a month and we are in the Summer ! Mortgages are going through the roof..this is Tory Britain, taxes are higher than they have ever been and our National debt has quadrupled you must be very proud. After 13 years don't you think we deserve something better.
