He's not angry Pete, don't you know he's laughing behind his keyboard?
The guy is an absolute tool in this thread.

And yes, I laugh at him - his crassness is such entertainment. More interested in watching the back end of the second day of Lancashire v Hampshire ar the moment...

I'm not angry, you dope!

I'm laughing at you and your continual Tory postings on here. You are making an absolute IDIOT of yourself with your postings, particularly in this thread on the forum.

Put your brain in gear and stop posting utter rubbish. But then on second thoughts, you are not capable of such an action.

Give up and sod off, pete...

You sound angry mate. Reign it it in eh? Its a Tory party thread after all.

And you agreed with Pete (a dope according to you) on Brexit being being a good idea.

Why can't people like you not understand that I find pete's Tory posts amusing in the extreme in the dogged determination to defend his beloved party? The lack of comprehansion of this by yourself and others completely escapes me.

And you know full well my views on Brexit, having been involved in the major discussion in that thread years ago. It had NOTHING to do with agreeing with Pete, but rather making my own mind up in the light of certain issues which crossed our national path in the months leading up to the political party-neutral election in 2016. Those issues being Cameron coming back from the EU with nothing after saying he would come back with shedloads of concessions; us having to ask permission from the EU to help the Port Talbot steelworks who were in financial trouble (the request was refused), and the EU giving a grant to Ford so that they could relocate work from Ford in this country to a non-EU country (Turkey). After that absolute crock of merde from the EU I was finished with them, and they've done nothing to change my views since then.

Hampshire 115-1 in their second innings, still 117 behind...

End of.

You dont know me. Your "amusement " comes over as anger.

I would be intrigued to know what you think a person like me is.
I think you are a decent, intelligent, person, who has a tough job moderating this forum.

You don't know me. As I've offered before, get across to the Hawkinge Battle of Britain Museum in Kent on Saturday 12th August or Sunday 13th August where I am giving short talks all day on both days on the Battle of Britain, and meet JV. I'll treat you to lunch and drinks at the Jackdaw in Denton. I'll even give you copies of a couple of my books - gratis. Can't say fairer than that!

In the meantime, roydo, I'm absolutely delighted that all but Kenwright have now quit the Board, as you no doubt are. I think Kenwright's days are numbered - let's hope so!

Easy (no) money mate. Thanks for the offer, but I wont be in Kent most likely any time soon.

Pretty sure him staying for now is just a corporate necessity till it all gets sorted.

But back on topic, it seems like civil war in that party.

1) No problem. But I will say to anyone who reads it, the offer is there to the first Blue who gets along in August.

2) Agree.

3) Yeah. The Lib Dems have said they will contest Nadine Dorries vacated seat. I wonder if Labour will not contest that one, and the Lib Dems step aside to give Labour a free run at Boris's old seat. Would be very interesting if that happens, to see what the actual swing will be in both...

Not really - I mean, despite the civil wars Labour was run better whilst he was leader (in terms of increasing vote share, increasing membership and improving finances).

I don't think he would have been a good PM, mind. He was too passive as Labour leader and refused to do anything from the top even against blatant deviants like Danzcuk, plus he never put the effort in to understand working class people who vote Tory. If between 2017 and 2019 he'd put that effort in, to do things like visit the military and talk to the actual personnel, to understand the abuses that were (and are) happening then he'd have done a lot better.
I thought we were talking about experience of running stuff that matters to the electorate though. I've no doubt he's great at running campaigns, and possibly even a political party. Would he know much about hospitals, public finances, the armed forces? I assumed that was the kind of experience and expertise we were talking about.

To be honest what did Boris no about that, or Truss, what I imagine they do is get people in who do know about it.

No, of course, but again, I thought that was the accusation, that politicians don't know anything about "real life", which is why I suggested that perhaps the civil servants are the ones that do most of the heavy lifting and try to stop the idiotic politicians above them ballsing things up too much.

Sunak should allow a vote on the Partygate report, to confirm the feeling in Parliament about Johnson's behaviour, even if he has already resigned, then follow it up by throwing Johnson out of the Conservative party and removing his ex-MP access privileges.

Exactly, anytime something bad happens in their life they should sit there and think “this is because I voted Tory”.
A good high number of them either ain't affected by the issues of today or can be easily convinced that these problems of are not the Gov's fault...and have been looked after by this government (as they always are) = the retired.
