Current Affairs The next Tory (strong and stable) leader is Boris Johnson

Pete’s defence of Boris verges on extremism. Truly unashamed.

It’s not a question of who will be better than Boris tonight, it’s more of a question of who will take the poison chalice and sink with the Tory party at the next election. Hunts political career would go down the drain if he takes it.

Penny Mordaunt would be a good leader of the Tory’s once the current crop have stopped tarnishing what the tories should stand for.

Ellwood is a wannabe lightweight. May has some strengths but lacks that final killer instinct and blew the whole of the EU negotiations by relying on that cretinous and useless civil servant. The public are not in Westminster, nor in the media, the public understand that he’s done a good job…….

Hes done a terrible job mate. The public do know that. Even the simpering BBC cant deny it any more.

Let me ask you mate, be honest is:
1) low growth
2) law breaking
3) High inflation
4) High tax
5) Ridiculous energy prices

Good? What part of that is good? Why is my economic situation getting worse and worse, despite me working harder and harder.

Convince me why I'm wrong.

And Ellwood is miles better than Johnson mate. He doesnt get annihilated in the recent local elections like Johnson did, who did far worse than a pretty woeful May. They are the facts.

Let me ask you to explain what has caused each of those, and explain why other countries are also facing the same issues…..

Bad governance. It's his job to improve the UK economy and peoples lives isnt it?

Who's fault is it that taxes have been allowed to go up? Or that energy companies can take the mickey with price rises?

This is tbe problem Pete. You get asked a fair question, from a member of the public, and the answer is with derision. It's not you per se, its just the Johnson attitude.

It's never his fault, always someone else. In the real world, you cant operate that way. My boss would never accept it, and honestly I'd never expect them too. I'd never make a mess of something and think I can just flippant blame everyone else. But I suppose I have standards.

I genuinely cant stand Johnson and his ilk. I wouldn't have voted Thatcher, but had some begrudging respect. Like Blair, she got on with running tbe country and took responsibility. This guy has messed it up, and his supporters cant even take ownership.

So it's his job to sort fiscal policy. It's his job to ensure the UK economy is growing not stagnant.
