If I wasn't allowed to do it, why were they?
Perfectly valid point of view you have there, mate. I see it like this : when you're coming to the end of a dual carriageway with a 60 mph limit, there's often a stepped speed restriction down to 40, and then 30 mph. This is so that people doing 65 aren't suddenly faced by stationary traffic at lights, and either shoot up their back end, or have to jam on, potentially causing a collision. If I'm there at a quiet time, in excellent driving conditions, and can clearly see there's no stationary traffic, then I'm happy to break the rules and do 55 till I brake at the lights, if I can't see any risk. I appreciate that it's technically a rule breach, and would accept the penalty if the Police did me for it, but I still wouldn't believe I was 'wrong', or irresponsible. Ditto for technically being too close and in too large numbers during the restrictions. If I believed, hand on heart, that people would act sensibly, and I didn't consider there to be a material risk, then I'd have broken the rules in a measured way, and not felt at all guilty.

We are where we are. I’ve said before that Boris is the best of the current bunch. I can’t decry a man for having a glass of wine. I take a more pragmatic view, in that I’d rather Boris than any of the others and that Starmer is a lightweight.

I’ve no doubt Rishi will resign as this is a godsend reason to bale out. But Boris will stick it out…..
So what other laws are you happy to support him breaking because he is, in your view “best of the current bunch”?

A little light shoplifting perhaps? Driving whilst a bit over the limit? Giving Carrie a slap when angry?

No other sitting prime minister has ever been charged with breaking the law - a law he himself put in place so he can‘t even claim ignorance of its details. You are on a very slippery slope Pete if you excuse him this.

You do know that Liverpool Council used to be Conservative until the 60’s, yes ? and that Liverpool was one of the last cities to change to Labour …….
The 60s was, funnily enough, 60 years ago. A lifetime ago. Wonder why they haven’t even had a look in since then.
