And Brexit still wouldn’t be done….
Are you really so shallow in your expectations that simply signing the deal is all you care about, not the delivery of the actual benefits? Sod Britain actually being a better country, as long as crown symbols are on pint glasses. Who cares that our passport is now infinitely less useful, just so long as it's a different colour. Do you not see how absurd this is?

I do wonder, at what point, given the events that have followed, someone who voted Brexit says ‘that it wasn’t worth it’ What would have to happen? I mean as a direct result of Brexit, Johnson came to power and cost thousand of lives through his handling of covid. Are they considered collateral damage?

Indeed, he will get away with it. And tbh, other than Labour supporters and Boris haters, no one cares about eating cake or having a drink at the end of a long day. Have a go at the Civil Servants who did all this by all means, but remember No10 was a closed bubble of hardworking people who did not wfh, and sometimes they needed to relax. I can quote you numerous examples of similar events, even Starmer, and within my own locality. People worked hard for our benefit, and then they had a drink and this happened tens of thousands of times across the whole country. Let he who is without sin cast the first stone…oh no that was Starmer and he wasn’t without sin……

If nobody cares why did he feel the need to lie about it repeatedly?

Thanks for correcting him and your absolutely right, Johnson has misled Parliament. Was beginning to despair of you Pete, but at last you've seen the light.
He will come back with you’re I’m afraid but , like his beloved Boris, diversion and bluster are all he has on this point.
Still waiting for him to confirm why it is exactly The Met need to confirm that Boris misled Parliament.

Could you list the benefits of Brexit for you yourself Pete, since your such a champion of it. Asking because as an ordinary citizen I cant think of any benefits I've had, since its conception. Unless it's all that extra money that the NHS was going to benefit from....Oh wait a minute, sigh, that was another outright lie from Boris wasnt it, fiddlesticks that pesky Labour party telling the truth again.

I will save him the hassel and just say it for him, cause you know it is coming. Vaccine rollout.
Oh he might throw in sommat like fastest recovery for the economy. But only because we unlocked and killed a few more people. But collateral damage and all.

Over to you Pete. What else you got other than the above.?

It's really extraordinary that we have this person as PM and that otherwise sane Tories are engaged in an uncomfortable game of Twister trying to find excuses for him.
Not really. They're making their own survival calculations, and figure they need the votes of the Johnson loyalists to retain their seats.

From the perspective of Starmer, he couldn't ask for a better situation than opposing a government divided against itself wheezing along. It looks like the irate backbenchers know that they can hit the 1922 standard, but don't have the votes to remove Johnson.

The longer this drags on, the better it probably gets for Labour. Against that, there's the MPs whose seats probably fall if they turn on Johnson, and his cronies who will never get anywhere near actual power again if Johnson falls.

From the perspective of a country in need of governance, it's a disaster.

What is insane is a phone call to Putin regarding Ukraine had to be cancelled because Boris had to be in Parliament giving the same answer to the same question for a couple of hours about a cake.…..
