Yes, but the problem is also that Johnson is becoming entirely toxic to the brand, too. Not to mention the country at large.
They won't do anything about him until after the local elections, when they can gauge just how bad the damage he's done to their brand is. Always party first. Sod the country.
We're led to believe that a man so stupid he doesn't know a party was happening around him, didn't realise that parties were against the rules while telling everyone the rules were 'clear', because 'nobody told him', is also the architect of a complex supply chain and procurement process and incredibly complex mass vaccination rollout. You do know that Johnson had absolutely nothing to do with that I assume.
But takes all the credit.
There is a word for that, I am sure.
Away from this valiant attempt to lick Johnson back to life, I do think its a massive mistake from Labour to not have a by-election for this defector.
It's difficult to know what going on as I have him on ignore, but I'll assume he's suggested that 'a few drinks' doesn't undo the amazing vaccine programme and Brexit triumphs?Big fan of @peteblue's work in here. It's like watching @ForeverBlue92 and @davek defending Benitez.
I didn’t realise they could do that? Would they still want that defector gimp to stand. Be good to call a by-election then tell him he can’t stand.Away from this valiant attempt to lick Johnson back to life, I do think its a massive mistake from Labour to not have a by-election for this defector.
Totally agree. I have long believed that if an MP wishes to change sides, test it with the electorate…..
I'm not sure welcoming a defector is quite comparable in magnitude, but I can see what you're getting at and it's probably not a million miles from the truth.Starmer just welcomed a Tory MP into the fold…every political party in the U.K. is of the same approach.…..
Tories don't do empathy. It's why they think the parties were no big deal. They don't see how others saw their relatives died alone etc
That was yesterday. No, today Bojo has singlehandedly spearheaded THE most successful Covid response and recovery in the entire world, boosted global Britain's reputation, put the EU in its place, reinstated the empire, discovered the secret to eternal life, and overseen record economic growth and productivity. IN A PANDEMIC. So we are jolly lucky to have him. It's difficult to know what going on as I have him on ignore, but I'll assume he's suggested that 'a few drinks' doesn't undo the amazing vaccine programme and Brexit triumphs?

…
If he gets through this then he will win the next GE.
In the words of a Democrat strategist back in 1992 “It’s the economy, stupid”.
On the plus side, Boris moved parliament out of paralysis and took us, as voted, out of the EU. The Pandemic has been handled well and the U.K. is now the first country in Europe to start freeing restrictions. He kept businesses afloat and workers paid and we now have record unemployment, record numbers in work and the economy has recovered to pre-pandemic levels, again the best within the G7.
On the negative side, he had a few glasses of wine and told a few porkies about it…..
