Current Affairs The next Tory (strong and stable) leader is Boris Johnson

You have to admire his snake like determination. I just wonder of course, who in their right mind would actually ever employ such a back stabber in the future…..
I sincerely doubt this was his first 'back stabbing' and they knew exactly what he was. He almost certainly felt he was the back-stabee.

And what are her chances of ever leading the Labour Party ?…..

TBF I think probably quite high - lets face it there is not an impressive standard of potential replacements for the leader in the PLP, and she does have the advantage of everyone (from Progress to Momentum) thinking positively of her.

Nothing says strong leadership like having no idea what the rules you've made are, then announcing you're going to sack subordinates for not telling you when you broke those rules.

Anyone else think V.5 of the defence will be that 'it was my evil twin'?

At this stage, nothing would surprise me.

The current affairs forum was pushed for by the Esk and myself and supported by way of modding and of course contribution, by @Bruce Wayne.

This was before Brexit and the resultant groupthink took hold. People were able to discuss both sides of an argument in a civilised manner and required very little by way of modding. Now of course if you are Tory, voted for Brexit or even dare I say it tried to see any positives from Trump, then you are immediately attacked by the ‘blob’. You might notice, that today, very few non groupthink members bother to take any part in discussions on here, because of vilification and the inevitable accusation of racist, etc.

Now this doesn’t particularly bother me and where serious conversation is possible, from both sides, in a manner that respects an opposing view, then I take a constructive part. I do however reserve the right to take the piss out of one sided and completely biased groupthink…..
Thing is, I’ve not used this part of the forum too much, so I’m not sure of the characters and their internet persona they are portraying.

So ok, I get it, you are taking this piss, I wasn’t sure, but I had hoped so.

…neither……
Pete mate, I completely disagree with your political views, but would love to meet you for a pint.

BJ is a disaster on legs. Sorry to be so blunt but 37 years as a Civil Servant in three different Irish Departments would suggest to me .... maybe he should go elsewhere.

Perhaps head of the Home Counties Fox Hunters???
