Welcome back Wayne
Neither of them fall into either category really Pete
I’ll grant you that neither is a Churchill nor a Thatcher, but unfortunately they are the best that currently exist.......

You’d have to hope that those who didn’t vote for Boris will refuse to do so and that whoever meets him in the final two will hoover up those votes.
I would expect McVey and Leadsom to throw their support behind Boris in the hope of a top job......
Think the only way Boris doesn't win now is if he manages to do something really stupid or offensive (always a good chance of that) or something from his past comes out.
The sad thing is he has done loads of really stupid, offensive things and had secrets come out and it doesn't seem to have stopped him yet so unfortunately he's going to be the next PM.
i think thats what most mps voting for him are hoping for lol
It’s a strange thing Bruce, as you will no doubt find out as your career progresses, but great leaders are not always great managers and certainly great managers are not always great leaders. Boris v May comes to mind....
He was not responsible nor had a part for Brexit negotiations, that was down to the PM.......
Anything hideous or bigoted the man does will only endear him to the membershipThink the only way Boris doesn't win now is if he manages to do something really stupid or offensive (always a good chance of that) or something from his past comes out.

He only has to get to the final 2 then it’s down to the members vote and he will win hands down.......
I don't know whether it's desperation, blind faith, or just complete bullshît to justify his own personal ends with that lid..I'm sure you don't succumb to the charismatic/heroic leader trope Pete? It's a bit old fashioned these days.
So we have a bloke who was, in your eyes, given a nothing job by the person you voted for as the last PM, and yet despite neither convincing his fellow MPs at the time, nor it seems the prime minister, that he could do anything remotely grown up, we're to believe that he can move mountains with the EU where previously none could be moved?
I'm a little bit concerned you might think he can part the red sea as well Pete.
Yeah, probably my latter option...And it appears you're okay with an unelected individual determining the direction the country goes in? You'll have to forgive me Pete, but it does seem that your principles and values are wholly malleable depending on whether what you want to happen is happening.

Weird that bj would take exception to Brown becoming pm via a similar process. We don’t vote for a PM in the U.K. we vote for a party and the party picks its leader, either before or after the election.
That’s how May got in, Brown before her, Major etc etc.....
