The whole political system is corrupt to the core....at the beck and call of "big business", media owners, and corporate greed

It is really hard to see how that system will survive this; failure mixed with loss on such a scale is rarely surviveable even for competent political systems.

The worry is that they'll try to hang on by turning even further to nationalism / picking an "enemy" for us to hate and land us with decades of pain.

How old are you? This whole class war thing is very A level politics. Big business always has, and always will, dictate a nation's politics. You sound like the momentum mob that just led the labour party, my labour party, to a pretty historic low. Hopefully a new leader will bring back a bit of common sense.

er - how do you get to call me a class war advocate when you say in the very next sentence big business always has and always will dictate a nation's politics?

Also, why do you think I was talking about overthrowing capitalism anyway? I said on the couple of pages before this that Prince William would be an ideal replacement for our current failure, because he'd be far more able to lead a genuine national government to deal with this crisis. The last I checked, this was not on Momentum's platform.

I think Johnson is a crap and a bumbling oaf led by the nose by Cummings. Sadly I think Corbyn and Abbot are equally inept, which is the main reason Johnson got in. I actually despair at the standard of our political parties these days and it's just when you need leadership. Think Andy Burnham should have had the courage to go for the leadership, best of a bad bunch.
I agree on Burnham but don't you need to be an MP to be leader of the Labour Party
