If johnson is run out of town this week then i pose the most obvious question,

How can you back any tory leader in the near future again? Both May and Johnson were handpicked by the party and look what happened. Kicking them both out of power.

The tories could say 'mr jones is the new leader and the one you should vote for, but how do you not know that they will be kicked into touch the first sign of unrest also?

In the interests of accuracy, May wasn't actually handpicked; she was one of the two least disliked candidates chosen by Tory MPs, and her opponent then pulled out of the leadership race, handing it to May without a proper election. As a result, her wooden personality and total lack of charisma weren't exposed until the 2017 General Election.

They will go for the sympathy vote if they are kicked out especially with leavers.

They won't deserve any of course, Johnson has been an unmitigated disaster from start to finish. God only knows what damage he could do with a majority and 5 years.

She was a shoo-in though over Leadsom if it had gone to the final vote. Think she was seen as the tough talking negotiator to ‘get brexit done’

Its bloody worrying that a sizeable portion of the UK can seemingly support Johnson. Listening to the radio on a long drive today had me pulling my hair out as caller after caller came on backing him.

Of course that's by no means representative but just to hear a grown up talk about ignoring little crimes and misdemeanors as irrelevant or taking the view that the Labour MPs were the ones overstepping the mark and attacking him makes my skin crawl!

That is what at least half the media, including parts of the BBC, is telling everyone though. I bet if you spent time actually questioning any of those callers, you would find very quickly that they were just repeating lines they've heard elsewhere.
