….Sunak supporter just interviewed by Kay Burley on Sky. She said he was the hero who got us through COVID, no retort from Burley of the millions lost to PPE fraud & Sunak’s criminal offence breaking lockdown rules.
The media are very unequipped to deal with modern politics...

"We need to get this country back on track and reboot the economy"

A simple "oh, why's that, who has been in power that has let that happen?"

"We need to regain trust in politics"

"Why, who lost it?"

The thing is, I bet these revelations haven't been suddenly unearthed by the journalists but fed to them by leadership candidate rivals themselves. So they'll have known this dirt but kept quiet about it until it benefited "them".

That seems to be exactly what is happening. Aside from that, there really seems to be enormous animosity in the Tory party between now multiple "stab in the back" myths taking place, a few from David Cameron's people, more from May's and more still from Johnsons. Its hard to see how many of the MPs are not in some way implicated in this, and leave some people in the party feeling they stabbed a leader in the back.

There is now both a clear culture of leeking on one another, and they all have multiple skeletons in the closet. I think Sunak in particular has plenty, and there will be plenty willing to disclose.

For the Tories this feels disastrous. At a time of acute need for the nation, this will be a very bitter fight, and one that will almost certainly continue post September.

For Labour it will be good, but as a country we will have to pay a heavy price for this, and honestly the case for an early election just gets stronger.

As clear as Britain's rivers.

Omfg, beautiful. She veers from rabbit in the headlights to the absolute rage in her eyes you can see she's biting back.

So yeah, she's an idiot. Second, there's a shady cabal of, seemingly unaccountable, Tory MPs ostensibly doing 'research', but who actually serm to have a disproportionate amount of influence in the party. Very influential in booting of May and the rise of Johnson.

Wonder how the media will try to portray her kind, caring side to the electorate ? That has to be the hardest job in politics, she has consistency on her side, I'll give her that, she seems to hate everybody equally. Suppose they could start with a full lobotomy, then surgically removed the constant sneer she has permanently and paint a smile on her miserable kisser.

…to be fair, Sky’s Beth Rigby tore into Sunak at his launch, much to the rancour of his audience.

This could split the Conservatives even more, the existing Cabinet backing their preferred candidate with the promise of posts under the new leader so some will be left in the political wilderness.

Looking like Sunak v Truss.
