He could be. We've certainly had worse. I think I'd rather it was him than having no number 9. It's been said he lacks a bit of self belief. Maybe giving him the shirt would help provide him with some.

Thanks for all the positive comments chaps. I shall be thumbing you all for taking the time to read it. To answer your question Bryan, it is my words. I'd been thinking about doing it for a while and took the opportunity of having a bit of time over the weekend to do a bit of research and put it together. As far as I'm concerned, Everton without a number 9 is just wrong. This begs the question of who should it be? Jelavic doesn't quite fit the bill for me. If Vic could summon up some of the spirit shown by Hickson and Ferguson, he could be the one but that's a big 'if' at the moment. Looking outside of the club, Benteke or Michu would be superb but if they were available we'd get outbid so they're not realistic. Kone from Wigan may be a more realistic option.

Thanks Bry. I quite enjoyed doing it tbh. I learned a few things doing the research and it all seemed to fit together quite nicely. I will more than likely do something in the future, but I've not really thought of a specific topic yet so don't hold your breath.

Totally agree on the Anichebe as a number 9 shout by the way, i think thats the kind of responsibility he needs, not just to please Moyes but the fans expectations of what a 9 is. I think he has the POTENTIAL.

Great piece mate. Someone I'd love to see as an Everton no 9 would be Lukaku. He's all the qualities, but sadly out of our range I'd imagine. Benteke would be a good alternative though
