And whats that got to with it, Cameron PM wanted to remain it did not happen... Plenty examples of leaders being led into situations because of others.

So is the NHS moving to a private insurance system good or bad?
Bad obviously paying imo is just queue jumping with the NHS - what Bevan set up with Doctors doing private work has never altered since its conception, I object to that even .......

It's about UK assests that are sellable to the world. NHS is massive business to insurance and private business.

Health and social Care Act has laid the groundwork.
I reside in Wales these days, apparently Marxist country as Drakeford is a close ally of Corbyn. Health and social Care Act for Wales is about Welsh Government taking ownership of Welsh NHS... So it differs from England (thankfully), we did not even go down foundation route which attracted to me Wales in the first instance.

NI in my day was your insurance for the NHS ..... our NHS will never ever be privatised OK....
I was ther 4 hours yesterday over my kidneys so dont think I don't value the NHS......
many would disagree

I think we’re going to have to think about healthcare very, very differently. I think we are going to have to move to an insurance-based system of healthcare....

I was talking to some people from JLR and BT this week Joe, and both said Brexit was an unmitigated disaster, just as the head of the CBI says in the article above. Given the apparent riches that will be available from 'trading with the world', why do you think so many businesses think Brexit is an awful idea?

What level of person were you speaking to. The last time I looked BT dealt with 180 countries and about 6% of its total revenues came from Europe. They also had to deal with the fall out from a disastrous owning of a company in Italy which halved the share price. So, in what way were they saying it was an unmitigated disaster ?.

We have spoken about JLR in the past and it’s sleight of hand trying to blame Brexit when the core of its problems have been product range within Jaguar, the fallout of the German inspired dieselgate affair and the collapse of the Chinese market, even though the Landrover sales continue to improve. JLR need to look in the mirror and not Brexit to point the finger.

They were both senior leaders in the tech and research functions.

Some terrific mental gymnastics going on here.

The Government will have it all in hand re trade deals, but they are awful, but the country is thriving, but it's not the environment created by government, it's business running things, but the government have given them the space to do it.

On a separate point Pete, if you want government out of the way letting business run things, how is that different to the criticism you level at the EU?

We need government to raise taxes, to look after welfare, to defend the country, to provide medical aid, etc etc and decide upon where we spend our taxes. They have a big part to play in supporting international trade and indeed front up many opportunities, but at the end of the day it is our businesses that provide the drive and the growth....

You clearly know that it's a partnership between government and business, that's obvious. I know you have little faith in government, but you can't possibly think that it's preferable to leave one economic block which favours corporations and private interests and install another in it's place.
