Oh right...where has that been stated? All I've seen is a worry that Brexit Party will steal Tory voters.
Also, it's normally sensible practice to state what your line of thinking is before writing a conclusion to your thoughts.
But what's our negotiating angle if we do that. If we're talking trade deals, then whomever we deal with will expect reciprocal trade arrangements so that the other country can export their goods to us. Now by being part of the world's biggest trading bloc (The EU) we have an excellent negotiating stance as we can offer that country access to all the EU 27 markets.
Surely that is a more attractive proposition than simply offering them access to the UK market. By being part of the EU we can have access to these types of trade deals with decent reciprocal arrangements. If we were to go it alone we would get those deals for sure, but we would have to bend over and take it (without lube), in order to secure the deal.
We don't have the British empire anymore, we are a small nation utterly reliant on foreign trade.
GFine I understand the semantics around the Euro elections. But what's the endgame Pete. Would you vote for Farage and Brexit in a GE situation?

Your questions will have already been answered within the current government and civil service work. But remember it’s not the government that make all this happen, it’s the individual companies that drive this. The government sets out policy and mechanisms to allow trade to flourish. During the whole of the time since the Leave vote the government have ‘done’ very little except prat around on Brexit, meanwhile the country has grown our economy and reduced unemployment to its lowest in nearly half a century. May and co may like to tell everyone this and boast about it, but it’s mostly a case of getting politicians out of the way and letting our businesses get on with it....

That depends on what policies they put forward. The problem I have is that I’ve never believed the all things to all men manifesto of Corbyn, and now I have been shaken by a Tory manifesto that has been deliberately undermined. Politicians mostly get in the way of trade and developing prosperity, so if Farage just said he would get out of the way and let U.K. PLC get on with it he’d get my vote...

The Government will have it all in hand re trade deals, but they are awful, but the country is thriving, but it's not the environment created by government, it's business running things, but the government have given them the space to do it.
On a separate point Pete, if you want government out of the way letting business run things, how is that different to the criticism you level at the EU?

Farage appears keen in scrapping the NHS and replacing it with health insurance, it make s you wonder, does friend and particular financial backer of Farages also previous venture with UKIP, run an insurance company?
