Took up the piano a few months ago, just starting to get to the phase were its enjoyable and not frustrating

I'm in that same sort of phase now mate. I enjoy just picking up parts from songs that sound nice.
I'd love to be able to just improvise like a boss jazz pianist.
Yeah I just play a few pages here and there at the minute, plus the girl teaching me is a decent, theres a bit of chemistry between us, and she made a point of telling me shes ditching her fella, might make a move and pass it off as a finger excercise. Its a buzz when you start getting a little piece spot on though,

Sounds a bit like a film that, getting off with the piano teacher! I teach myself, hate being taught, I feel under pressure.
That's the best feeling though when you feel yourself getting a part right.

Went to a birthday do at a bar last night, and met up with some old friends I haven't seen in six year. Had no idea it had been that long tbh. It was a real wake up call. The older you get the faster times moves. I know physicists will argue that point, but it's true.
Had an ace time, and further cemented my New Year's resolution to get out more, connect with the people in my life, and stop being such a recluse. I've drifted away from the social part of life that most people know me for. It's really easy to just retreat inside your own head when money's tight, or friends move away, or if you just aren't as arsed about the same stuff anymore, but it's not healthy.

In my music class in GCSE this lad was proper boss at piano and it was just proper good to watch and listen to.
It'll come with time though mate, hope you smash it!
Got a fair bit of time off so theres no excuses really, I don't have your musical grounding, but the idea that its a skill for life drives me on, remember when them random piano's were about in town, you'd see kids going on them and smashing out a tune, love to be able to do that

Pretty much why I picked up guitar, in school I'd sit in the music room at lunch and wish I could play. Every house party I go to a guitar is there. Same with them pianos on the street as well, just be boss to be dead good and people to enjoy it.

There was pure fanny around them piano's when lads were playing as well, I am actually doing it for me as well, got no real interest in joining a band or anything like that, couldn't be arsed with rehersals and all that

Hahaha, thankfully the piano lad in our thing was 'asexual'. I'd join a band if I were good enough and my mates would proper be up for it, I'd love to do something with music but that's just a dream really.
