Current Affairs The Labour Party

Outsourced is the start of the privatisation process we both know it. It's why the government underfund the nhs in real terms because they want it to fail to give them the excuse.

Different labour party that was in power then and won't try and defend what they have done, I care about a fully funded fit for purpose nhs moving forward that isn't privatised or people need health insurance to access.
We want the same thing - the problem is that the NHS is something I don't think can be solved by the government. It's far too big and defies all conventional logic on how an organisation should be run. The abuse of the system by people using it inappropriately, those within it at middle management level and the completely over the top demands (nurses with degrees etc) that are its biggest problems.

On that we can certainly agree. Need less managers and more nurses able to give the care they want to give. My mum was a nurse all her life when she was alive so the nhs is something I am quite passionate about.

Not sure I totally agree with the abuse of people using the nhs though.

Is it? Are parts of the nhs currently been done by a private firm? Yes. A private firm is only concerned with making a profit not providing a decent health care service.

Again though, that's a gross over-simplification. I speak to a lot of people from the healthcare world, both public and private, and without fail, they all want to make a difference to patients lives.

Do you know what a CCG is?

How is someone who wants a fairer society for all, having those who can pay more tax pay more to help those less fortunate, ensure our nhs isn't sold off to the private sector, want to raise standards of living ruining the Labour party? If you are a labour supporter surely you want those things too right?

Corbyn isn't liked by a lot of his party because he shows them up as he is more to the true roots of labour then most of them are.

Whether you or I or anyone else for that matter likes it or not by going far left they were never going to win the minds of the Tory voters to win an election.

You could have the best principles in the world but if you are not going to get elected then unfortunately he may as well stand on a soapbox and make seal impressions.

This is what we could all foresee happening and it will come to fruition.

To repeat - every single senior figure in the NHS , Sir Bruce Keogh, Simon Stevens, the AoMRC - all of them are saying the health service needs to stop treating the private sector and investment as the bogeyman. Need to get ahead of it and sell the skills

They're just political stooges or have been bought off by the Tories or something. Joking aside though, it isn't just the senior folk who think that, it goes throughout the NHS as far as I can see. I've yet to meet anyone actually working in it that thinks the way politicians talk.

People using it as a drying out facility when they are bladdered. The amount of serial patients who turn up week in week out complaining of the same symptoms. People going with a cold, headache or sore ankle.

There's a lot of abuse of the system which takes away resources that are needed elsewhere.

Three years ago, there was in the wider conferences / symposiums still a bit of wagon circling. But 2016 as a year broke that and 2017 has been the year of expediency.

There needs to be a much better understanding of "free" and "free at the point of care".

See Andy Burnham is nailed on to win the mayoral win in Manchester pity when I voted for him first time around in the leadership fight he did not win the leadership in the first bpitbas I voted for him !

And my GP practice is now privately managed. Profits go to the company - previously they went back into the practice itaelfe
