Current Affairs The Labour Party

Labour got ripped by piers this morning. They make it hard for themselves by not answering questions about trident.

...I'm afraid Corbyn has made a stance in a number of areas that is likely to be at odds with the broader party view so it will be difficult to argue a firm strategy on various fronts.

...it was rumoured that Corbyn's son would be given the Walton nomination.
That'd be brilliant if Anderson was left like a beached whale having turned away from his mayor's post and also been knocked back for the Metro mayor.

"I've never closed a library" is his proudest boast as mayor. Closed a lot of other things though. Half a billion cut from the city and he wielded the axe.

notice he went very quite very quickly over the H'boro issue too. Where was Uncle Joe at the weekend when Uefa were telling Everton and Liverpool they had to allow accredited journalists the right to enter stadiums? Nowhere. He knows that the clubs dont want to lose any revenue from that source and its an economic winner for the city.

Principles eh?

..it wouldn't be very principled if Corbyn handed his own son a lucrative job via a safe seat like Walton. I'm afraid principles and politics rarely go hand in hand.

I don't get the fuss around Trident to be honest. Of all the things a prime minister has to do, activating a nuclear deterrent would be a long way down my list of priorities.

I can't really see Germany, Italy, Spain, Switzerland and the rest of Europe (except France and Russia which do have them) are any less safe by not having nukes...

An interesting point. Would Ukraine have lost the Crimea had they retained their nukes, I'm not sure that Russia would have been quite so bold.......

I'd thought Labour had made a decision to keep Diane Abbott away from the election as she is always a disaster waiting to happen. That is one of the most cringe-worthy political interviews I've heard. The one with May on Sunday was bad but Abbott's is unbelievably amateurish.

In this instance I wouldn't care as long as it kept that repugnant get out in the cold.

Because she is an idiot......just imagine letting her have hold of the levers of power.....

Regardless of ideologies, you want people that are competent in the cabinet as that is probably the biggest determinant of the success of the government. I can't say I know a great deal about her, but that interview was absolutely awful.

As you know I believe in the calibre of Corbyn himself but I do have my doubts over some of his shadow cabinet!

She has always been the same, from being completely two faced when putting her own children into private schools while demonising others for doing similar, for her it's always a case of do what I say not what I do.........

Corbyn is a fool and is destroying the Labour Party. His shadow cabinet are incompetents that would destroy the UK.......
