Can I echo this!Can I give a well deserved shout out to all the good Evertonians who have started contributing to this forum sub section in the past week.
A lot more representative balance now. Two weeks ago it was a load of right wing snobs sneering at scousers. Much better now.
@JonS we miss you man.
Well done Labour
Just give Labour credit where credit is dueIf Labour want to actually cut down on avoidance then they need to get actual tax advisers and accountants into hmrc. Lots of those things on the list work won't work in practice. The best way to get money back is by getting those trained at tax planning into the revenue.
They don't have any mate. They won't tax their mates or themselves.Just give Labour credit where credit is due
Where are the Tories tax avoidance policies?

Totally agree. Whenever I have had dealings with HMRC staff I have found them to be totally lacking in knowledge and just about incompetent. At the same time my some of my ex-work colleagues teach more about tax than you'd ever care to know.If Labour want to actually cut down on avoidance then they need to get actual tax advisers and accountants into hmrc. There have been so many staff cuts in the HMRC its not surprising as it's not an area they focus on now as much.Totally agree. Apolitical creature here, but should point out that, strange as it may seem, the post labour budgets have seen more moves against false self-employment (IR35 introduced by labour 1999 but badly drafted that effectively HMRC almost stopped going after the "consultancy company" as the tribunal used to have to come down on the side of the company).Just give Labour credit where credit is due
