Honestly the annoying thing there is that they can make that argument and point out that the Tories aren’t patriotic; they’ve got rid of tens of thousands of military posts, effectively cut pay for the troops, closed bases, screwed people out of full pensions, shut courts and police stations and hoover up donations from foreign types (especially Russians). The increase in the defence budget is going to go to their mates like Annington, not to improve our armed forces
Even something that Corbyn got slated for proposing (going after Russian money because of Salisbury) would have done far more than asking X number of diplomats to leave.

It's basic bad politics in any case. To state you are patriotic is falling into a Tory trap to continually justify yourself.
The people running Labour are not clever people. They are focus group led drones with zero feeling for political mood. They are miles behind their heroes from the Blair era, who, despite all their many faults, were experts in positioning themselves in the best light and the Tories in the worst possible light.
The LP will never recover with these fools in charge. No one buys into their fence sitting nonsense, and the general public know a coward when they see one...and Starmer is an utter bottler.
