Good on them - nothing wrong with being proud of your heritage. Every time you see countries with horrific standards of living / oppressive governments be grateful you was born in a country where you have food on your plate, a roof over yer heed and the ability to call your leader a clown without brownshirts coming over to take you to a reducation camp

Better to bring into the fold, no point in being sniffy and exclusive, show people there is better way... Bring them in understand their angst. Which is going to be about work security having a house, good school good health and social care. A good life.
Almost guarantee it's nothing to do with my country is not my country anymore...

Agree with you there but I do think that sticking a flag behind you is the sort of cheap, hackneyed stunt pulled by politicians all over the world and won't fool anyone; it will need more than that to shake off the stigma of Corbynism. However, the comments I've seen about this being some sort of embryonic fascism are ludicrous, and there is a legitimate argument that ceding the mantle of patriotism to the right allows them to dictate the terms of British patriotism.

I didn't watch the broadcast the other night so have no idea what he was talking about but he would do better to talk about British values, or more importantly the Labour Party's British values than just sitting in front of a flag. Maybe he's done that and I nodded off...

No mention of Starmers performance at PMQ’s where he effectively called Boris a liar over the EMA, only to be found that he had indeed done exactly what Boris had accused him of, and then Starmer having to apologise. He’s already lost it .......

lol

All he did was fall into a trap of hearing what the Tories had been saying all week (that he would have signed up to the European vaccine programme) rather than what Johnson said (that he’d stay in the EMA). Staying in the EMA wouldn’t have affected our vaccine programme, of course.

Obviously the Tories haven’t apologised for saying what they did, nor has Johnson for serially lying at PMQs, but Starmer has so obviously you are now arsed.

Because it was a fairly innocuous and pointless mistake.

What was that word you all loved to use to describe him...Forensic...yeah that was it.....Forensic...

”Boris Johnson had said repeatedly throughout Prime Minister's Questions that Starmer had wanted to join the European Medicines Agency, which has been far slower at giving vaccines the green light than the UK.

Starmer hit back saying: "Nonsense. The Prime Minister knows I've never said that from this despatch box or anywhere else but the truth escapes him."

The Labour leader has infact said on five occasions that it would be better to stay in the EMA, twice at the despatch box in the Commons in 2017. “...........Forensic......
