No you didn’t - you said they’d been in charge not that they’ve been present (indeed the point that socialists had been in Labour was one you appeared to reject when you said they’d be better in the Green Party, so its a bit mad you claim that’s what you are on about now).

In fact you’ve said the same thing (that Momentum were to blame for ten years of Tory rule) at least twice here.

Nit picking at its finest ^^^

Im using momemtum/Corbyn as an example - I've already told you why in my opinion Brown and Miliband lost their appeal to voters you just dont want to listen.

But you don't think they did this by being too far left do you?

Yes - Brown called an old woman a bigot because she had concerns over immigration - the very condescending attitude towards voters which I've been banging on about.

Milliband refused to hold a referendum on the EU despite the majority of the voters wanting one - the Tories meanwhile took advantage and offered one and won support from it.

Labour for the last decade have put ideology over winning elections therefore they can not complain when the Tories are cutting budgets to the bone as they have let them do it.

Im not saying throw away your morals but Brown could have easily listened ti that woman and educated her, Miliband could have offered a referendum and given facts on the postivies of EU membership but instead they were arrogant and condescending "we know best and you're all gammons".

You reap what you sow.

Mad this.
One - I’m not sure pro-EU and refusal to have a referendum is a far left trope. If anything it’s incredibly centrist.
The old woman was probably a bigot to be fair, he said it in an offhand muttering due to annoyance and stress. It does not make him far-left. Brown and Milliband - far left!

I don’t remember Milliband calling anyone a gammon or saying he knew best (though he probably knows better than most)

She was a bigot. lol It was hardly well measured concerns she was quizzing him about. She said ‘all these Eastern European what are coming in, where are they flocking from?"
Had more respect for Brown after that. Go on lad.

I like Gordon Brown and that moment there showed him to be human and relatable.

We’ve all been in conversations with women like that. She was a massive bigot.

I wouldn't personally say she was a bigot some people are just straight talking and dont do PC / political speak rightly or wrongly especially the older generation who grew up in a different era to us. I highly doubt she was some BNP voting nazi (she could have well been for all I know).

But again why not educate instead of shouting down or throwing accusations around? I dont get the end game of that tactic.

Thats why Labour and the left in general have floundered for years in Western society - its the closed shop mentality of if you dont think like we do you're [insert label] which pushes people into the arms of the Right who pretend to listen to what they have to say in order to win support.

Well it was caught on his mic and he apologised after and if I recall rightly she was invited to the labour conference. Not sure what more he could do apart from bending over and taking a pegging

She was a bigot, and he thought he was saying it privately.

Miliband was 100% correct not to offer a referendum. It broke the country to a point that'll take generations to heal. There was no need for one, and the EU doesn't divide Labour like it does the Tories, which was Cameron's actual reason for offering it. He thought he'd win by giving facts on the positives of EU membership, too, and pipe down the lunatic backwoodsmen in his party for good. Now here we are.

Can you give me a list of the prominent Labour Party MPs who have refused to engage with someone who has approached them in good faith? Or where they've refused to educate and thrown accusations at them? And how this has impacted on their vote?

Cameron was spooked into holding a referendum not because there was a great clamour in the country for one, but because he feared ukip taking seats off the Tories. Also he thought he would get a majority in favour of remaining. When he didn't, he ran away like the coward he is.
Now look where we are.

Probably worth noting that he wanted to control/heal the divide within the Tory party too, over EU membership.
