Perhaps my favourite bit of the anti-Corbyn antics this week was when they said there was no point in the inquiry and it should be dropped, because they hadn't said what they were recorded as saying and that showing that they had caused "damage":

In a formal submission to the inquiry, seen by the Guardian, lawyers for the accused officials say the WhatsApp messages were used selectively and edited to give a false impression. They also say the inquiry should be abandoned given the damage already caused by the leaked report.

This inquiry has to be open, fair and competent and if they are found to have done what they are accused of, then they have to be shown the door.
